Does anyone suffer with severe indigestion type pain with ibs constipation?
Yes at times I do. It seems like once things start to "move" I suffer from bloating or indigestion. Sometimes I feel better if I just stay constipated, how weird is that?!
Omds yes!! I feel so nauseous all the time! Especially after going to the bathroom, eating and even on an empty stomach. Abdomen also is sore and tender to touch sometimes
Have you been offered Linaclotide which is for IBS-C with pain? There is also enteric coated peppermint to consider.
Hi,no I haven’t heard of this. I will investigate 👍.Tried peppermint capsules in the form of colpermin many years ago but they caused heartburn 😌.
Yes, I was using Fybogel twice daily also 1mg Leporamide and lately I have become extremely pained when trying to go to the loo for bowel movements which results in 'goo' and occasional small had stools. I've tried Dulcoease and prunes but am still unable to go. The doctor has now prescribed me Nortrypteline. Still no better.
Yes I do. I have been constipated since birth and had various medications, procedures and a sphincterotomy. The constipation is mostly under control with prescribed drugs & irrigation but I started with constant severe indigestion type pain about 14.5 years ago. Again lots of tests & the deduction was gall stones but removal of the gallbladder has not helped. I have to eat so carefully all the time. I cannot eat after 4pm ever, or I will definitely be pacing the floor all night instead of trying to sleep. I can’t eat any spices or herbs, just really plain boring food. Just smelling certain foods makes me nauseous. Sometimes it flares up so badly that I cannot eat at all and have to live on milk for days/weeks. Each time this happens, the flare seems to last longer. I would love to know what is wrong & what I could do to put it right.
Oh wow, that’s awful 😞 I feel for you. I have only started getting this for the past 12 months on top of the ibs issues.I am taking omeprazole but I am concerned these tablets aren’t good long term. I had an endoscopy 3 weeks ago and they found fundic polyps which apparently are caused by ppi medication. No clue what these are until I speak to the consultant.I too have a very bland diet with no fast or spicy foods.Every test I have doesn’t seem to indicate anything which I know is great and I’m very grateful. However it is very baffling when you suffer so much pain and no one can give a clear indication as to the cause.
I agree, I’m worried about having been on the PPI too long but without them The pain & nausea is unbearable. I do wonder how I can feel so ill yet all the tests find nothing wrong. It’s very strange. The digestion troubles came on quite suddenly and before them I used to eat a good and varied diet. There were no foods I wouldn’t eat. It makes me sad when I think of all the lovely food I miss out on and food related social events ( not at the moment of course, because of covid). I don’t even go out for family meals anymore, it’s just too difficult. I hope you get some answers and feel better soon, take care
