I last posted here 12 days ago in regards to bleeding with IBS. Just wanted to give a quick update to anyone interested!
I spoke to a telehealth GP via a service my work provides. They were concerned and through that discussion there were two potential causes: C-difficle or, based on the fact this has happened before, some form of IBD has been creeping up on me for 2 years.
I left work early this afternoon because I really did not feel well. Horrible stomach pains, I was getting uncomfortably hot, I felt like I was going to faint. I called my GP surgery but they couldn't get me an appointment. I called 111 later in the evening and spoke to a fantastic person (isn't it a breath of fresh air when someone listens?) who booked me an appointment at Urgent Care.
I was getting ready to go when someone called from Urgent Care who decided that it wasn't appropriate for me to attend my appointment and completely downplayed everything I'd told the lovely 111 person - they suggested it was quite simply a tear or something of that ilk. Highly inconvenient as I was just about to go out the door to get there.
I got a bit upset, had a cup of tea and a cry and tried to take my mind off it for a bit. All was well until I started feeling terrible again with the stomach pain and back pain (I took some paracetamol but it's not quite touching it) and now I'm in bed trying to sleep.
Plan of action is to call my GP tomorrow morning and attempt to get all the testing and samples done ASAP. I'm taking the day off work tomorrow with every intention to get some rest and try and wrangle anything out of the GP, which generally is like trying to get blood from a stone.
I will update with more information as/when/if I get it.

Good luck. You know your body better than anyone. Keep a positive head as much as you can you will get the answers eventually and I am sure there is some form of treatment that can help you get back on your feet.
Thank you very much 😊 - it's an issue that has happened on a few occasions now, all during periods of high stress and anxiety levels (my university dissertation, moving and working 2 jobs, months of working during lockdowns seeing people behave awfully etc). It gets worse every time it shows up and it would be nice to know a little bit about why so I have the tools to fix it up a bit and make it better next time it arrives.
I've posted a new update - the feeling is moving beyond just being fed up into an irrational frustration.
Thank you for replying! 😀
Thanks for the update I hope you get seen soon as it causes more anxiety when your left in pain x
You're very welcome 🙂 I've posted a new update tonight! The short version is that I'm still in pain and the anxiety has turned into anger (It takes a lot for me to be genuinely angry enough that I'm in that mood for days, even if I try to take my mind off it).
I refuse to take my emotions out on anyone else when it's something I'm responsible for managing, it isn't my place to do so, it's not right or fair - so I've been sitting with this anger for 3 days trying to constructively get it out to no effect.
Thank you very much! I've just posted a new update - I got some sense out of them, amazingly, but it took a bit longer to get sorted (my GP surgery is running the Covid vaccinations for the community - I would rather sit in bed and feel a bit pants than get in the way of the surgery administering the Covid vaccinations).
Thank you for the update. I hope everything goes well. I know for me, anxiety makes things so much worse and when I get postponed and delayed I am just miserable. Wishing you all the best.
