I know that i have asked before, but still trying to find out if its IBS I have, A it seems unusual for a male aged 60 to have it for the first time, so it states. But also i have constant pain, usually across my stomach around the belly button area, and sometimes worse when i go walking, pain is always there at about a level 2/3 but sometimes appears as a sharper burning pain. My bowel habits have definitely changed in that i have bad constipation. I have also been diagnosed with fatty liver disease. i have a lot going on, but this has been constant. Feels a bit relieved at night in bed but then worse as the day goes. I see a lot of IBS complaints seem to be sharp cramping pains around BM, mine dont seem to be, any thoughts. I have had all the usual tests going, all negative, apart from a positive SIBO reading and not sure how reliable the tests are, as it told me I should have more bowel movements with hydrogen producing SIBO rather than constipation. Its frustrating, every one you see contradicts the other...

Constant pain
Hi there depending on what gases your sibo is producing like methane sibo can def cause constipation issues .you could try taking an probiotic containing lactobacillus and bifobacterium , I also had sibo that caused bad diarrhoea had a couple weeks of antibiotics hey presto all gone back to constipation again !!! You can get ibs at any age if your not convinced go back to your doc and ask for more tests x
Yes thats where its odd for me, hydrogen tested SIBO but severe constipation go figure
If you haven’t changed your diet or take meds that can cause constipation then sibo could be the cause from what I’ve read it’s all about levels of bacteria in the gut too much of one sort can cause havoc ! 😐
Hello, look into the GAPS nutritional protocol: youtu.be/Z_0NvcJZwa8
Highly recommended if you are suffering from gut issues in general. SIBO can def cause constipation. You need to rebalance your gut flora/microbiome.
