Sorry for being a broken record but i get so frustrated with differing expert veiws, you have IBS, no you dont, yes you do. I am told by most consultants that i have visited that I have IBS even though I don't meet the Rome Criteria. I just want to here of anybody else, you see I don't get the urgency issues or the cramping pain, i do have chronic constipation now but that has been a later issue. I have always had, 24/7 a constant mild to moderate stomach pain, usually around the belly button area but across the width of my stomach, sometimes it feels more stabbing than others and is best first thing in the morning, sometimes i feel as if it radiates around my lower back and can feel like a nerve pain if that makes any sense. The pain is not made worse or easier with bowel movements, but is constant that is the worse thing, be careful what you wish for, but i could live with attacks at some time, but not a gnawing pain that just is there all the time. its been nearly 9 months. Does any body else relate at all. All my tests are the usual, negative, for everything, including H Pyhlori, etc. My diet is perfect, bland and probiotcs etc everything i can do.
body else

Hi, you don't say how old you are but I was wondering if you have constipation but it is getting worse, hence more pain and not getting any relief from it.
Hi Maureen, I am 59, to be honest i believe this all started with a medication that i was put on that has maybe messed with the gut balance, if that makes sense, the worst thing is that i didnt need to be on it at all, and it has ravaged my system, over the past 6 months, bleeding ulcer, IBS, NAFLD, SIBO, all seems a bit odd given i was fighting fit at the start of the year. My pain is just always there and has been even before the constipation as my BMs have been all over the place, from good one week, to earlier being soft, then rock hard, then nothing, trying to find out what is going wrong, and nobody can give me any sensible explanation.
The medical profession (in my opinion) have no idea how to deal with any of it but they won't admit that and blame us. Which just gives everyone else the notion that we are all crazy. If they would just admit that they don't know what to do, we wouldn't be treated so badly by others! Years ago I had a doctor who was retirement age and he said "it must be an awful thing to suffer with but unfortunately at present we have no answers"!
Hi again how long ago were you prescribed the accutane ? And what is your perfect diet ? X
This could be me constant pain . Doctors don’t no what there doing . I’ve given up sometimes sitting here in pain .if you find out something that helps last would be great . One young doctor told me they don’t no as everyone’s bowel is different . Plus a specialist told to learn to live with the pain as he had no magic wand to help me . And when I ask about pain relieve or a muscle relaxer he wrote to my doctor saying I was asking for dimazipan . But I was asking for help .so got loopy bowel and dis functional bowel with narrowing . So doctors just add laxatives . So I feel your pain . Sorry for moaning but it’s hard going .
This sounds exactly like me the pain and the location is spot on I’ve had this for nearly 2 years had lots scans etc , bloods all normal . I very rarely get the cramping pain or attacks it’s just constant pain and chronic constipation . The constipation is under control but the pain remains I also eat healthy etc I wish I had the answer x
