Hello,

I have a quick question. I have experienced pretty severe bloating that last about 1 ot 2 weeks at a time since last year. I did a colonoscopy December 2019 : all clear.

Tried foodmap diet. Bloating was still off and on.

I am pretty sure I am lactose intolerant as I get bloated every time I eat dairy. The bloating last for days every time.

End of june , my stomach was litteraly flat for 2 weeks. No more bloating! Was so happy.

Then I accidentally ate goat cheese ( a few bites) at a restaurant last week. The bloating was almost immédiate!

Bloating came back with a vengeance and won’t go away which worries me. I am now bloated all day non stop . I look 4 months pregnant. Can bloating last for over 1 week as a reaction to lactose or could it be something else.? Could it be a coincidence since I read bloating usually last 48 hours with lactose intolerance symptoms?

Thank you so much for reading and answering.

For me, if I have an episode of bloating it's about 4 days of "purity" (nothing on the FODMAP taboo list) before my body gets back to normal. My biggest bloating problems come from lactose and anything dairy and also soy.

Hi There,

Yes, for me, any accidental consumption of lactose, will take about two weeks to wash out.

I believe even Goats milk/cheese has a low amount of Lactose.

I have to stick to a very strict diet of non dairy products which usually works.

Hope that helps
