So the only thing that sets my ibs off is lactose. All dairy apart from cheese seems to set it off. The thing is i miss yogurt as its what i use to have for breakfast every morning. Ive tried lots of dairy free options like alpro and oatly but there just not as nice as normal yogurt.
I read that you can increase your lactose intolerance and that people with ibs should stick with greek yogurt or thick yogurt as its got less lactose in.
Hello, have you tried lactose free alternatives? I can eat a little of cheese slice. Maybe give that a go? Or koko is not bad, seems good with my stomach so far. I don’t know about sticking with Greek yogurt? However, some people have stuck with it but with me, personally, dairy is out of the question unless a little of lactose free? I personally haven’t tried the yogurt yet but that is something I need to think about?
3 table spoons is allowed? I think it depends on the individual? Koko can take some getting used too. Other brands I’m not keen on and can’t eat soya. Maybe speak to a dietitian? See what they can advise? Mine has been tried and error.
I am on FODMAP and tolerate small amounts of dairy, I eat Greek yogurt. I also think making my own milk kefir helped me. The other thing I did for a while, years ago was take a lactase complex supplement before eating Dairy ( lamberts). Soya didn’t agree with me either and I enjoy dairy so much.
Yes it seemed to. As with so many of these things we are all different and sometimes it’s difficult to work out what is affecting, ie emotions and food. Or just the food, as happens it seems for me sometimes.
If you’re in the UK, Tesco just started stocking Oatly Greek style vegan yogurt. It’s very nice and versatile. KOKO fruit or plain are also delicious and the fruit ones don’t taste at all of coconut.
I also have IC as well so cant have the fruit koko ones but hate the plain one. Ive tried oatly greek and did not like it. The plain oatly was not bad but was watery. Ive found the new thick yeo valley one and am trying that at the monent to see how i go
