Hi Guys, Although I've posted here before I'd like to start again keeping it brief. I am really struggling with up to 3 trips to the loo for BM and still feeling like I need to go but can't.
I go fine first thing in the morn after coffee but within 1-2 hours I get the feeling I need to go again but cannot go straight away, poo just sitting there. Eventually I'll go then 1-2 hours later the same process happens. I just feel really sore in my rectum as the poo just sits there while I await the urge to go.
Previous post will tell you more but i am down to 3 lansoprazole a week but this is making no difference that I can tell. I have tried more fibre and less. I tried cola, kiwis, linseed, movicol, bisocodyl, and various laxatives and self help regimes.
It feels like there is gravel in my rectum yet it is in no rush to come out.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Regards
Dev

This might sound silly but have you tried drinking coffee on the second and third trips to the tiolet. Coffee can help you go, it might be all you need to get things started. Just a suggestion.
Hi dev. This sounds really horrible for you. I bet you dread going to the loo. Not sure what tests you have had but I think I would go back to the doctor and get help. I suffer with ibs c and so I would go days without going to the loo. I went 2 weeks without going at one point and that wasn't any fun! My gp referred me to a dietician and she was really helpful. She spoke of drinking lots of water, linseed, seeded bread and things like that. She said that I really needed to increase my fibre and it has really helped. I'm pretty much going to the loo daily now and I think because my gut has woken up, I'm not having as much bloating and pain. As maureen suggested Coffee is also a pretty good laxative. If you have tried this dev without much luck I would go to your gp and try to get some answers. I really hope things settle down for you. Take care
