sorry I’ve wrote on here multiple times but i need help. I still haven’t been diagnosed with ibs. Well this started about 3 months ago. I ate Something where i thought it was food poisoning stomach was hurting had diarrhea and was okay for 2 days the stomach pains came back and was bad for several days I mean SERVAL days. Ended up in the ER a lot of times. Got blood work done eveything was well except a fatty liver which they did a biopsy when they remove my gallbladder because they said it was my gallbladder causing this pain unfortunately was still in pain after. Got a colonoscopy done it was clear and got a endoscopy which they found GERD, gastritis and hernia. But the pain has finally some what calm down still get pain here and there. I had to cut pasta because I’ve notice pasta makes my stomach hurt a lot. I get some what constipated here and there and sometimes diarrhea. I’ve got ct scans everything Is okay as well. Now also I’ve notice my period changed since the stomach pains started. This month finally my stomach pains haven’t been to to bad till now ... I started to get sharp pains here and there and I got My period. Now I’ve heard ibs can be worse on woman when the time of the month comes. I really don’t know what it is... 😭 I’m sick and tired of these pains!!! I also have really bad anxiety and i think that Im dying or I have Something so scary .. but everyone says I’m okay .. i just really wonder if this can be ibs ?

Have you had a food intolerance test done? Have you been checked for sibo? Celiac? Has anyone recommended the FODMAP diet to you? Any probiotics prescribed?

Food intolerances test is for all food groups. Like I am egg and lactose intolerant. You should look into FODMAP. But under a qualified dietitian. But it’s essentially that your GP first diagnoses you with IBS. I would suggest get help with the diagnosis. As GP will conduct all test ideally to eliminate other possibilities. At least your colonoscopy and endoscopy don’t show anything out of the ordinary. That’s a good sign. Don’t worry. Tc.

Stress is a major cause of IBS. So don’t stress. All your reports are clear. That’s a good sign. Anxiety and stress effect my Ibs a lot. Along with diet controlling your stress is very important for your Ibs to improve

An IBS Diagnosis means nothing. Doctors toss patients into a group so that the patients feel they have a known disease.

IBS isn't a disease it's a syndrome. A collection of symptoms that seem to have no cause xxx

I have a IBS diagnosis and also interestingly a fatty liver which was confirmed by an MRI. My IBS can be AWFUL around my period. I completely relate and it is very common that you worry there is something a lot more wrong with you. However, it is worth looking into endometriosis if your pain very bad around your period. I have just started a FODMAP diet with a nutritionist so that would be helpful in the diet aspect of things. (I wouldn't try the diet on your own as it usually does not work as well and is incredibly stressful to navigate. Trust me I know haha!)

I hope you are better already. The advice given by other members are spot on. FODMAP diet was recommended by my doctor. I don’t follow it strictly but went back to the list from time to time to check what could have triggered an episode. My personal experience is I had to quit alcohol and meat to avoid pain. Lately stress triggers some episodes again and i had to quit coffee. Often antacids and H- blocker prescribed by doctors worsen the pain. Home-made probiotics (kefir and kombucha) helped me greatly. No fresh milk. Yes, i did notice worse IBS near period. Hope that helps.
