Upper Back pain
Oh. First post I found which is similar to mine firstly I’ve had endoscopy CAT scan ultrasound MRI and everything is negative I avoid every single trigger food but have almost constant trapped air in my upper left back and front. Tried everything I can think of it lasts
for a couple of months and then goes off doctors Have got no idea just said I’m swallowing air which I’m not. Had it over three years any ideas would be fantastic good luck to everybody. not being well it’s a full-time job isn’t it bless you all.
It gets you down though at times doesn't it - at the moment I could happily go to sleep and not wake up from this condition but, should be thankful as there are people with worse things - take care and thanks for your email xx
Exactly how I feel. Fortunately I don’t really get the pain at night it’s as soon as I’m on my feet which is most strange definitely to do with trapped air I could burp for England. But not eaten anything yet this morning which is difficult taking the other tablets. I have polymyalgia and migraines but I’m sure it’s not associated. Just going to try some charcoal I’ve been taking omeprazole on and off for seven years. And tried other PPIs. Have a feeling could be making it worse so I’m going to cut down this week and then try stopping. Never actually had any acid unless I eat the wrong food. It’s so draining isn’t it as you say so many people worse off so feel guilty moaning but just not been able to do the things we want. Lots of good wishes to you I’ll post if the charcoal Many thanks for the reply.
Stop drinking all fizzy drinks, cut down on alcohol and really chew small mouthfuls f food, almost, until they are liquid, also avoid the usual problem foods, Brussel sprouts, baked beans etc. etc. This will dramatically reduce the amount of wind going into your stomach, and should help the problem to disappear.
I too suffer from upper back pain and constant wind and burping. Cutting out certain foods does not seem to make any difference although I don’t eat obvious culprits eg beans, Brussels sprouts etc. Have been on various PPIs for months and they do not seem to help. Am off them now as I had to have a Ph test for acid which showed that I didn’t have a problem with acid so I discontinued them. Have had lots of tests and an ultrasound showed that my gallbladder is full of stones, sludge and crystals so am waiting for appointment with a gallbladder specialist. In the meantime I have found that milk of magnesia calms my tummy somewhat. Interested to hear how you get on with the charcoal tablets.
Hi glad you've got an answer to your problem. My back pain does go with zantac etc I've got a hiatus hernia which causes reflux with me. Have been under a lot of stress recently with moving to the country (be careful what you wish for!) retiring and bereavement so think that may have a lot to do with things.
Good luck with your consultation with the doc x
Upper back pain is my main symptom. I have hepatic and splenic flexure syndromes. I also have better symptom control with gas-x, beano and prokinetics help when I’m struggling.
