Hi all. Anyone else get back pain under ribs with their IBS?

Hi there, Yes I get pain under my ribs and back pain with my IBS. I've learned to live with it over the years and I tend to do a lot of floor stretches and short walks that help a great deal every day. Best wishes. 😊

Hi Ruth,

Just reading this thread and noticed your symptoms mentioned.

Pain under your ribs and back pain are classic symptoms of gallstones- have you ever had a scan for those? I have had IBS for years, but suddenly had a terrible pain under my ribs about two years ago - ultrasound showed gallstones and I had my gall bladder removed about three weeks later.

Still got IBS though!

My GP thought the same about gall stones but scan came back clear.

I get back pain that stretches under the ribs as well and no gallstones, but I only on my left side. I also have arthritis and osteoporosis, so I think this complicates the situation.
