Hi you have my sympathy. I have had ibs for 2 years thankfully no diarrhea. I have taken buscopan it does not stop my pain or nausea! I don't know whether mine is due to having a tortuous colon. I have had a colonoscopy!! Seen a dietician she told me to cut out lactose. But now I regret doing that and can't seem to tolerate it and feel nauseous now. Even tried bringing it back in very small options. Told me to do the fod map diet which says you can eat cheddar cheese but stopped eating that because of the lactose!! Anyone got advice what I can eat to get rid of the nausea? Hope this helps in some way. Good luck

Try a couple of cups of ginger tea throughout the day.
Your dietitian should have provided a fodmap guide for you to follow and a follow up session to help with reintroductions. As diets go it's complex as it's not a static steady-state diet.
Check if that person is fodmap trained. Kings College London can provide a list of accredited fodmap specialists if you need that as a reference.
It could be worth doing that - that process worked for me and I am told it works for 70% of those with IBS symptoms.
If you stick to mature cheese, like aged cheddar, Grana Padano, mature Gruyere, they naturally do not contain lactose because the bacterial cultures have fermented it all into lactic acid. Similarly, plain yogurt. But they still contains casein, which is milk protein and some people struggle with this too.
Hi I buy lactose free cheddar it's excellent and I can't tell the difference. I find the lactose free ranges are getting alot better and I am able to eat cheese and have milk in tea again, decaff of course. Please give it a go xx
Hi yes I have tried it it is expensive. I went on line at it said filtered milk has no lactose in it. Thanks for your reply Claire. I have read on line that there is no lactose in filtered milk? Also can anyone suggest anything for feeling sick.
We suggest speaking to your GP or dietitian.
