Pooping at night and have to go as soon as I wake up. Only on FODMAP . Cramping lower abdomen . Pee all night . Connected visceral hypersensitivity. Lower back pain . Pelvic floor dysfunction. Why pooping in the middle if the night ? What to do.?.

Are you incontinent, or do you wake up in time? If you are incontinent, you must contact your IBS/IBS team ASAP.

What time do you eat your last food, in the evening?

What type of food do you have, in the evening? Reember, you should breakfast like a prince, done like a king (lunch time) and sup like a pauper (evening).

Hi

Thanks for your reply

I follow strict Fodmap . Only soluble with a little healthy fiber “Acacia powder” with meals . Probiotics , Bowel Tone herbs.

Nocturia ( where I pee at night ) now it’s both ,.l

I do a lot of pelvic floor yoga and get Acupuncture and other alternative health approaches . It’s weird to wake up and just have to go .

I have insomnia because I wake up to pee a lot ..

I don’t eat a lot at all all day and especially at night .

Don’t ever want another colonoscopy . It’s been years but my IBS is chronic & unpredictable . I’ve had a lot of past reproductive surgery .. I feel like I need to up my fiber more but avoid flares at all costs.

The more fibre you eat, the more often you will go to the loo (BM). Go the other way, eat rubbish, like Mc D, Kentucky, obviously don't go mad, just try it. I remember a surgeon, actually, prescribing this for someone, many years ago. Maybe, check with your docs first. Please cut out fizzy drinks and alcohol, if you haven't already.

My case is somewhat similar to yours. I’ve had pelvic floor surgery which I suspect has weakened internal muscles so the stool wanders down too soon. That together with IBS d is a recipe for problems. No doctor has confirmed this theory and I try to avoid tests. I take psyllium to bulk up the stool. As for peeing at night, try to avoid caffeine, drink little after 7pm, stall when the urge comes at night because I think sometimes the body makes a habit of wanting to pee, do your pelvic floor exercises, and try not to be stressed or anxious. On the other hand don’t hold your pee too long if you have an urge. I read somewhere that you can try scheduling times to pee to try to regulate the body.

I apologize if you are way beyond all these methods and ideas, and I hope you find something that works for you.
