BMs and shaky legs!

I`m having to use glycerin suppositories at the moment to combat constipation - they work well but after a BM (which can be quite powerful!) my legs are wobbly for an hour or 2 after. Does anyone else find this.

When I am going through a diarrhoea phase I also feel wobbly each time I go to the loo. Perhaps it`s because the BM causes a surge of adrenaline?

What you have experienced is a classic case of vagus nerve stimulation (Google for more information). It only occurs if you pass a very large bowel movement and is an indication that the suppositories have done their job effectively by evacuating your colon completely.

Hi - I'm the same, shaky legs but don't use suppositories. I didn't know what was causing it. Reassuring to know someone else has it. But must be adrenaline rush - it must be a lot for our bodies to cope with. I'm often on loo for half hour!!! Mary
