Multiple BMs every day, but not diarrhoea

Does anyone else have 3-7 BMs each day - NOT diarrhoea but formed & randomly any size from very large to tiny. Admittedly it's better than constipation but is inconvenient & uncomfortable feeling the need to 'go' so many times. Any advice please?

Yes! I do. It is really inconvenient as I feel like I never know when another one is coming which really limits day to day life and going out :(

I also get the uncomfortable feeling, so can completely sympathise with you.

Sorry no advice apart from taking a small amount of Imodium to try and balance it out a bit.

Wishing you well!

Only just seen your post Catmac. Use a glycerin suppository before you go out and you should be ok for a few hours. But try it at home first to see how you react to them. Bx

thank you for your reply, I agree it does affect daily life a lot. I try Imodium occasionally but it's difficult then not to become constipated. Balance is so difficult isn't it - fibre, fodmaps, stress, sleep etc!! I'm currently trying Alflorex probiotics but no improvement so far...

I’ve suffered this for many years, had every test going, and you just don’t know which day it will happen, this week I’ve had it twice, and it also gives you anxiety 🙄, I take Imodium had 3 today , and I only work 16 hours , because of this condition, I hate it 😣

Hi, me too! Never had a digestive issue before but for the past 5 months I’ve had bloating, stomach discomfort & 5-10 small bm’s daily. I’ve been taking alflorex too, plus fybrogel & now on day 3 of macrogol & the frequency has reduced significantly since using macrogol. I suspect the cause is perimenopause hormone imbalance but doctor seems sceptical on that! It’s very frustrating!
