Antibiotic diarrhoea!

Has anyone else had this? Have been on antibiotics for a week for diverticulitis and now have very bad explosive diarrhoea. This is my 2nd day so starting to get quite concerned about it.

Try taking Yakult.

Yes, same experience here - explosive is the word, with bad cramps. It does go away but not pleasant. When I mentioned this to a nurse at the surgery she said certain abx do have that effect. Try and build up the 'good guy' gut bacteria to replace what the abx destroys by eating yogurt, kefir, and taking a probiotic. Hope it's easing by now.

Have had a bad night - good job I’ve got an upstairs loo!

Hope on the horizon though I haven’t been since 7.30a.m.

Am taking probiotics and eating yogurt.

Just tired now - 2 nights of badly interrupted sleep are taking their toll!

I know that feeling! Good luck for continued improvement.

Fairly normal dependent upon type. Normally the Dr warns and is on the info leaflet given with the drugs.
