Hi to all sorry to post this but I was wondering if anyone else suffers with this. It’s been so debilitating all week. It’s a constant thing that comes and goes but of late it seems to be happening more often 😩. It starts not long after eating with the urgent pains and literally if I’m not a minute or two within striking distance of a toilet I would be in a right mess literally. It comes on so suddenly with no warning. I don’t go out a lot anymore only when I really have too and then I have to take Imodium. I do walk my dog for half an hour every day but I have to time it just right and sometimes I’ve had to run the last few minutes of the walk to get back in time. A lot of the time it is the colour of mustard and takes me a lot of flash wipes to clean up after myself 🥲. If anyone who suffers with this or has in the past I would be most grateful if you could share your experiences with me. Much love to anyone suffering it’s a constant nightmare.
Urgent explosive diarrhoea : Hi to all sorry to... - IBS Network
Urgent explosive diarrhoea
It may be IBS, but you should see a gastroenterologist for a diagnosis. If it is IBS there are a lot of things that can help, including diet and some medications,
I have ibs and I'm the same after eating have the pain and need to go to the loo very quickly. I am trying the fodmap diet and gluten free foods which seem to be helping abit have u seen ur GP and had test done if not if I was u I'd get checked and see if they will do test to see if anything else shows up hope it settles down soon for you as it's horrible when it's bad
Take a look a BAM (Bile Acid Malabsorption). Link attached.

Mustardy colour made me think BAM.
I had this for over 40 years. It has been life changing getting a diagnosis of Bile Acid Diarrhoea from a gastroenterologist. I have been taking one sachet of colestyramine (a bile acid binder) per day before bed and have not had a single episode in 2 years. Some GPs have not heard of the condition or think it can only occur after some types of surgery. As Maureen suggests, look it up. There is also bad-uk.org as a very good source of information
you poor thing i know exactly where youre coming from, i had it for 8 months and even now dare not go out in the mornings. mine was cause by lanzoprosol tummy protector and 80 mg statins, ive had ibs for 40 years but its got worse since my mum died, its loads better now im off the tablets but ibs still flares up thank god for bum wipes , as you say if youre not close to a loo youre done for, ive run for my life before now and not made it, isnt it just the worse thing ever. then come the hot sweats get off the loo clean up pull your knickers up and woops here we go again,,,,, sorry to be so explicit. it really is the most awful thing ever,
I've had a few episodes of explosive diarrhoea since January after always being very constipated luckily I have a fab gp who was on the ball I've seen a gastroenterologist and am now due for a ct next week and they're doing a camera both ends soon.....if it's a change of bowel habit for you then it needs checking out good luck.
I could write a book about the times I’ve been taken short, had ambulances called, been threatened with arrest for voiding in the wrong place and been comforted by dozens of members of the public.
But no more.
Now I only eat after eight pm.
I take glucose tablets during the day and sometimes a teaspoonful of kimchi every couple of hours if convenient.
I perform an enema before I leave the house or use a glycerin suppository if pushed for time.
Two years ago I fell and knocked out two teeth while racing to the loo. I voided lying on the ground with an audience of about twenty people. They were all sympathetic and stayed with me till the ambulance arrived.
The measures I am compelled to take are drastic but I’d rather do this than suffer one more episode of faecal soiling.
You read all you can on the subject and let us know how you get on. Con amore Bx
