IBS - D: Silicolgel

I've been using silicolgel for a few months now and it's definitely changed everything. I've tried everything to try and help my IBS, including diets and antidepressants and nothing worked. we found silicolgel in boots and it's actually worked. I wanted to check that it was working as it's quite expensive so I came off it for a while and my belly was awful. so I would 1000% recommend this to people suffering!

Hi Emily,

So so pleased you’ve been taking Silicogel ; it’s always worked for me - one can now get this in satchet form from Amazon U.K.

I tried silicolgel & it did work for me for a while but then ‘it’ started again!! It’s so expensive too. I just couldn’t afford it. Do you take it as they suggest, 3 times a day? I’m so pleased it works for you & continues to do so!

hi! I only take it once a day, sometimes only once every other day. three times I think would be a waste for me as it's so expensive!

Oh that’s helpful thank you. Maybe I’ll give it another go. Might sound a silly question but when do you take it?

I usually take it in the morning but if I forget, I'll take it with my dinner

Hi That's great it's always worked for me too - I generally take like a maintenance dose of a spoon a day and as long as I don't overeat or drink I seem to be fine x

Well i have been thinking of taking it but the price out me off. I have IBS C. Do you think it could work for that?

hmm I'm not sure. I think it may help with my cramps but they're not completely solved by the gel so I'm not sure. they do little bottles which are cheaper so you could always trial it

Don't you need to be careful with things like this? I thought they were dangerous for regular use as they basically bind up the contents of your stomach, which prevents essential nutrients from being absorbed? Frequent use can result in deficiencies...? It works in the same way that activated charcoal is used in hospitals when people have ingested poisons.
