I was just wondering if anyone who has been taking this, how long did it take to start working as I've been using this for about a week now and everytime I eat anything, my stomach gets full of gas and it is very uncomfortable still. I was really hoping that this would work or should I give it mo time?

Like anything with ibs, it takes 2 weeks to 2 months for different things to work on different people. Give it a fair chance but usually you have a feeling if something is starting to help. Just remember that not everything works for everyone. Good luck

It works well for me in stopping diarrhea but I still get bloating and gas.

What dose are you taking and how many doses do you take per day? Also at what time/times do you take it?

I was following the directions and taking a dose three times a day before meals, but now after about 2 weeks I have gone down to maybe twice a day.

I took this some year's back and was full of hope. However after about three expensive bottles and no improvement I put it down to just another 'doesn't work for me'. I go through periods of taking Colafac regularly topped up with 'Wind Eze' capsules which are about the best over the counter remedy for excessive gas.

Thanks for replying, I'll just have to give it a go I guess.

My 15 yr. old son uses it regularly. In fact before every meal. It took quite a few weeks to notice any difference. He also takes charcoal tablets for the wind but you can't take them at the same time as silicol gel stops absorption.

Bio kult probiotics along with a plant based diet has virtually eliminated excessive gas for me. I tried silicol gel a while back and it made me constipated.

I have been using Silicolgel for about a year now and find it to be marvellous - instead of close to running liquid my stools are more normal and going to the toilet is so much more like it used to be before the IBS was diagnosed. I have never suffered with gas or bloated feelings in my stomach tho'.

I take the Silicolgel once a day before my main meal (usually Lunchtime) I don't take it more than that as it is so expensive (tho' cheaper on Amazon!!) I also find just once before main meal works perfectly anyway and avoids possible constipation!!

Hope this helps you eventually - I found it to be a help almost immediately!!!

That's good news, I think I will just persevere then at least for another month or so and just cut down from the three times a day x
