I've had that kind of pain, all day every day for 5 years. Had every test, every med from here in the USA. No one can help. I'm tired of these doctors. Its like they are not listening. They want to blame it on IBS & I know its not that. I've done gluted free, the fodmap diet, etc. There is pain! I dont have acid reflux, no diahrrea, no vomiting, etc...Just PAIN. Mine is a constant ache. I'm wondering if its my liver. I'm going to see my GP soon & try to get her to help me find someone who will listen.

Yes this is very frustrating my GP said we have been over this I don’t know what it is that made me mad I think I need another GP we worked together in the past and I don’t think she take me seriously. I had a ultrasound and CT and X-ray I’m tired of being in pain our body is trying to tell us something but no onr will listen it’s very sad!

I know exactly how you feel. I sometimes think if I went to the emergency room, I might get someone to do something different. I dont know. I'm sort of at my wits end. Good luck finding someone to listen.

I have been taking Omeprazole for a number of years, and I have learnt (the hard way) not to forget my daily habit! Previous to first trying it, I had a few experiences of trusting the wrong people when looking for help, and suffered much misery with reflux etc., but once I found a GP who was genuinely interested in my problem, and willing to listen to me without once looking at his watch, I knew I had made progress.

Your problem is that you are misplacing your trust in a GP to whom you are just another five-minute appointment slot. You need to find another GP, as soon as possible. It's your body, your pain, your life, get busy with your phone and find a better Doctor.....

I wish you well.

I also have had same pain but nothing has ever shown up with liver function. Had colonoscopy a few weeks ago as had a bleed but turned out nothing.

I have been like this for over 8 years . Endoscopy 3 times (hiatus hernia) and colonoscopy twice. Ultrasound on kidneys negative. Been told it could be hormonal but always comes back to IBS. Now I am on fluroxitine which does help me sleep. I found cutting out dairy helped a bit and I try to be gluten free ..... Tried to stick to fodmap but just couldn't.

I sleep propped up and take Omaprazole to help with acid reflux. This has been going on for years and I just have to accept there is no fix. I now am under investigation for hypoparathyroidism as calcium levels are high and vitamin D low. Don't know if there could be a connection. Lot of people worse off I know I but it gets you down. :). Good luck to all of you. I think perhaps we have to accept IBS is blooming awful and can be really debilitating.

Have you looked at the possiblity of low stomach acid? I have pains under both my ribs, was given Omeprazole- pain still there. Had an ultra-sound nothing to report. Finished omeprazole, a week later the pain subsided. They then started again, back to the GP I go, more Omeprazole- pain got worse. I posted on the Pernicious Anemia forum as I have low-B12. Low B12 causes low stomach acid. The Omeprazole was lowering it even more. I put a stop to the medication and started eating recommendations of lime, ginger and pickles to increase stomach acid. I've not had rib pain since. There is an easy at home test to do if you Google it. Many symptoms of low stomach acid are he same as high stomach acid.
