I am new here so not sure if this is the right place to ask.
I have started getting these pains which i then need to go to the toilet immediately, sweats, severe nausea and loose stools. i feel a bit shakey after it usually happens once more about 10 mins later and then i am fine for a while. I sometimes get a sharp pain in my lower left side and read that this can be your diverticulum so not sure if this is part of my IBS or something else.

Agree with Maureen best place to start is with your GP -he/she should ask you a set of questions and if they wish may send you for more elimination tests which is good as they are only being thorough. Good Luck!
Sounds like ibs to me too! I would imagine your gp will refer you to a gastro consultant who will examine you & suggest a colonoscopy with biopsies!! Well that’s what happened with me anyway!! First step go to your gp. Good luck.
Yes this sounds like ibs... im having same flare since about 10 last night.. pain in my left side almost like bad period pains( cramping) , then go to toilet and feel fine and then it will start hurting again until basically u go again!
It ur body getting rid of something it doesnt want in there!
So think back to what u ate?
I know mine was the bad choice of a mac d burger on way home last night as i hadnt eaten all day and i am totally gluten free and also no red meat in over two years and i thought “ oh it wont hurt just one” AND IT DID!! FOR NEARLY 12 hours!!! The pain is bad!!!
I will not make that mistake again.
Wouldnt worry about diverticulitus i had test and i didnt have anything it is just ibs.
I have been told I have IBS but no tests except and endoscopy to look for gallstones but nothing bowel wise. and I am lactose intolerant (fully tested and diagnosed by the hospital not self diagnosed) . I’ve noticed these attacks happen when I have lactofree milk which seems very odd. Yes I feel fine once I’ve been to the toilet. I still feel shaky for a few mins after but the pain goes away straight after, I’m glad it seems like a common thing. Usually I only suffer with bloating and a few cramps but this started about a year ago. Admittedly I don’t stick to my lactose free diet religiously so I want to do that and cut it out completely and see if that helps. I think I have ibs A or M as I’ve seen it described? Is there any specific foods to avoid?
Yeh i also cut out all dairy! It hard i dont eat gluten, dairy or red meat... processed food and try to stay off sugar!!
It work and once u get used to it u dont think about it.
Thing is i have defo got a gluten prob( tested not celiac but was showing intolerance) but i also find alot of other things upset me and i have had 3 flares in 2 years and that my own stupidity but other then that it been good!
If u have been proven to b lactose intolerant u really should stick to it... try soya, almond, cashew something like that... i have almond or soya.
Otherwise what ur doin is slowing posioning ur body with something it doesnt want or like and after a while it will build up and let u know ur not sticking to what it wants and ur have a flare!
I mean mine was red meat and bread which i have eaten neither for over 2 years so i dont know what i was thinking but ive paid for it today and all night ... the pain is like sharp constant cramping period pains until i go to toilet but it keeps doin it till basically ive got rid of all what it doesnt want in there. Like my gastro told me what it doin is making u sick so u get it out u system
