Years of suffering
Understand your feeling. Have you been checked for celiac disease?
A gastroenterologist can help to find common food intolerances such as gluten dairy
and egg. However I found age 70 after tests for food intolerance re a smart test
through a chemist chain in the uk I had a range of food intolerances which when removed helped tremendously. Like you I tried some drugs, but they did not get to the root of my problem. However as you have a busy life looking after your family, it must be so stressful
to have all these problems. I can only say that multigrain, dairy, and some fruits, even yeast, can be common food intolerances. Dr Isabella Wentz is a pharmacist who discovered with her thyroid problem, that she had multigrain allergies. You can find her
on the net with her diet suggestions. She is an author, and speaks convincingly about how
the right diet may help you reverse a problem. I removed wheat barley rye, malt, rice
egg, and dairy, and banana. It was disappointing to find I could no longer eat all those tempting foods but as I prefer savoury foods, it has not been so difficult.
There is a smart test in the US which is an app, with a device, which can detect what foods are upsetting you. It is a type of breath test called Aire. There are other home test kits on Amazon.com which test 64 foods. This sounds similar to the test I had done. Colofac and fibre gels have helped when the condition goes out of control which is not often. Colofac has few side effects if any. You can check it on drugs.com. It helps the colon spasm, without affecting your ability to drive, or making you drowsy. Hope you find the master key before you are 70!
Thankyou so much for your guidance, My G.P is not very helpful I will try another one in the practice and hope to get some food intolerance tests done as I have noticed some foods don't suit me ,but basically I have been on my own with the problem ,After a colonoscopy I was diagnosed with diverticulitis, also diagnosed with IBS after that no follow up or help .Perhaps I should ask for a gastroenterologist appointment but I will certainly follow up on your suggestions thankyou so much for help at least I don't feel quite so alone now
If you are in the UK, Alphega chain does the test for under 71 pounds - it was the best Christmas present I had as never had any info from GP about it. They have loads of
branches and a map locator so you might find it useful. It was just a finger prick test
with computer results back and discussed within an hour.
