I have taken Acidophilus extra live bacteria in capsule form, from Natures Best(other brands available as they say on the BBC!). I took them for over two years but didn't notice any difference. And when I had full stool tests before my colonoscopy I was informed that my gut bacteria was well balanced but my digestive enzymes were low so I changed tact and brought digestive enzymes and I believe this time after 6 months of taking them I notice a difference. Hope this helps.

Do you mind sharing the digestive enzyme name you take? Trying them with little success so far..

Of course- from Natures Best its called Digestizyme described as a broad spectrum of plant sourced enzymes.

Someone told me about this about a month ago. I actually have it saved on my home page, but it seemed it was only available in the U.K. I'm in the States. Will take another look..I don't think it is on Amazon..I wonder how I can get tested to see if my enzymes are low..hmm..not sure what to do. I do see a new gastro (third one..😳) on the 18th of this month. I will ask..thank you! xx

No drinks are not that good plus i have a dairy intolerance and find they just upset me but i use a probiotics tablet and digestive enzyme they are seriously good.

I have had no symptons for 18 months?

Probiotics do help, I recommend the tablets or yoghurt unsure if the drink. However diet is still more important.

I have IBS-C. Have tried so many. They said the best strains are BB-12, L. Bulgarius, L. Casei, and VSL 3, and none helped with constipation, as they stated. I sort of doubt them because they are not FDA approved. Tried Yogurt with live cultures..only thing that really helps a bit is Yogurt parfaits. I have heard of people using "Optibac" Probiotic with success.

Kefir helped me a lot at one time. Similar to yogurt but better I think..

I may try that, but may do a good quality digestive enzyme first. I saw one on Dr. Amy's website. Digestizyme.
