Can anyone manage broccoli with IBS d. I was doing so well. Think it has to be that, even though I didn't have much and it was well cooked. Confidence has plummeted yet again.

Nope it a big no no, it was on my gastro and nutrionalists list of defo not to eat along with savoy dark cabbage, onions, garlic and spices.

I eat alot of spinach instead as theres something in the other greens that not in that and im fine with that.

Brocoli used to cripple me

Thank you again. Wasn't an instant reaction but nevertheless was one that I could have done without

I have a friend who is really into nutrition and she has pushed broccoli so so much, hence my giving it a go.

Spinach is amazing, have just bought some frozen, so I am never without. I have also managed some frozen mixed veg in small portions.

Hope you are having a good day.

Yes it a lovely day down it south east today really hot and i got a day off!!!

So im lazing in garden.

It so strange thing is she prob telling u as a nutrionalist whats good to eat for ur body which brocoli is fantastic BUT she not telling u as a ibs specialist and there are certain things in brocoli and savoy cabbage that is a no no for ibs sufferers and it all over internet.

I can not even have a bit which is shame as i love all veg and fruit but i just cant, the next day i will have rotten stomach for couple of days just not worth the stress.....

Like i said ive learnt no onions, no spice, no garlic,

Gluten, yeast.... i cannot tolerate bread at all it bloats me and i get pain in colon.

I have to eat easily digestable food and i eat little and often!

And i am fine i rarely suffer but i am religious about my diet

Well now you know that broccoli is not good :)

As for spinach, i eat it at least 5 times per week and its amazing.

I have a lot to learn. She is self taught so not sure I should take much notice. Follow my gut as it were.

Can manage one square of dark chocolate......my treat. Hope to manage cake soon. Thankfully ok with bread and muesli good for me.

I am S/SW washing dry. Major achievement as managing without washing machine so goes on line dripping.

Teaching later, hopefully without the aid of Immodium 🌞

Oh so ur ibs d? Im ibs c! But it the same things that give us pain apart from ur will end with a poop mine ends without one ha!

Yeh i all self taught really apart from a sheet i was given.

I do not eat any gluten and dairy ( only cows dairy) which has helped me massively. Gluten was a nitemare for me and i never realised it till i stopped eating it...

I literally looked pregnant all time as soon as i stopped i lost 2 stone and i never bloat anymore.

I eat cake but only as treat and it will b gluten dairy free cake. They do these unbelieveable chocolate logs in sainsburys and im greggs they do a fantastic gluten free brownie for 95p a pack of four and they are the best brownies ever. Dark chocolate with tiny amount of white drops but i seem to b ok with that

Love my green veg but living with IBS sometimes ok sometimes not. Broccoli for me is the best for me as I do not get too much wind compared with Sprouts and Greens.

in reply to Linley

Sprouts will give wind if you have ibs or not..

I think different things effect people in different ways when they have ibs... I'm ok with all greens.

Ya broccoli is a no for me as well. Get gassy immediately after eating. I can manage gluten and diary free cakes though. Tried my first one just last week. Nothing happened so I was happy.

Hi, broccoli and cauliflower, also sprouts are definite nos for me. I eat spinach and that's fine. My IBS has got much better since taking probiitics, drinking prune juice every morning with weetabix and biotic yogurt. Hate to tempt fate but no real pain since 26 Dec 2017. Stay off the brassilic veg. Love maggie
