Does anyone get gas in their stomach and will get symptoms like feelings of dizziness, racing heartbeat, feeling faintish and cold and after that need to go toilet and poo? Once poo is done the symptoms tend to subside..just wondering if this is part and parcel of ibs and if others have experienced such?

I haven't been diagnosed with IBS (yet) but my research brings me here. I have heart palpitations, missed beats etc, which always seems to coincide with digestion problems. I haven't worked out which foods make me worse but the heart stuff is scary which promotes anxiety which in turn makes them worse.
Yes i have the same prob..the skipped heart beats always seem to coincide when i have excessive gas..i went to a doc and did tests and was diagnosed with ibs..once i had a terrible anxiety attack and went to A&E..did checks on my heart and there was no issue..maybe u should seek a doctor too..just to rule out other issues that you might be scaring urself with and in turn making the anxiety worse. Ibs and anxiety seem to correlate. And it seems to mainly develop when i feel stressed.
Yes for 2 and a half years, finally found out it's and overgrowth of yeast bacteria similar to candidia. Cornflour, yeast, sugar and dairy make it worse. I had to pay to see a nutritionist in the end to get the test results as doctors are no help.
What sort of checks were did that helped to find out it was overgrowth of yeast? I have been for stomach scans and blood tests..they just told me it was ibs..because the checks were normal..did seeing a nutritionist help?
Just if there is no toilet around.
But you should see a doctor with these symptoms.
Yes iv been for checks and scans..and doc said most prob is ibs given tt they ruled out other causes..but still unsure..bcos they cant seem to givr a definitive answer
If the doctor says IBS that means he/she doesn't have a clue what's wrong with you.
I think your blood pressure gets low that's why you have these symptoms so you should ask for a 24 hours blood pressure test and EKG.
If it worse when you push it out then it also can be nerve related issue.
Hi, it does sound like IBS, if as you say symptoms didappesr immediately you poo. Symptoms do gradually get less servere over time but for your sake i hope its jusy s phase of your life and it will go awsy! Good luck.
Yes, I have experienced those feelings before too, but only before an "attack" (bad episode). I'll even get congested and will need to blow my nose. Not sure what causes it but know you're not alone! Hope you can get some more answers from your doc.
I get this when my ibs is at its worst. And like a PP said I then get a bit anxious which makes some of these symptoms worse. Try some calming breaths and/or meditation. Can't say it'll stop these things but it may take the edge off and keep the anxiety at bay.
There is no doubt you have all the symptoms of what doctors like to label IBS. I am writing from the United States and we appear to have an epidemic here. I've been to over 12 GI doctors and they all have differing opinions about what to eat, what medications to take, if scar tissue from ovarian cancer surgery is causing adhesions, if I have pelvic floor dysfunction, etc I got this when I was 74 and soon will turn 80. I am personally convinced there is stress component, but whether gut sends pain messages to brain or vice versa, the pain and what follows causes the stress. Acupuncture has helped somewhat as well as pelvic floor exercises. But trying to determine which foods cause problems is like walking through a maze. I wish you well but really would encourage you to try some alternative medicine approaches.
Well my stomach issues definitely cause the stress, my immune system is constantly fighting the overgrowth of bad bacteria. I've felt a surge of acid suddenly appear in my stomach which instantly goes into my blood stream, makes my face burn and ache and it stresses all my muscles out then it's impossible to relax them for the rest of the day.
Well the main yeast/fungus was geotrichum, the other bad bacteria overgrowths were citrobactor brakki and citrobactor amalonaticus. I only just found a couple of weeks ago so still have bad symptoms and I've still got to get more supplements to kill the overgrowths. Symptoms have been unbearable at times, constant nausea, burning stomach aches, diarrhea, constipation, stomach cramps, flu symptoms, burning stinging face, unable to relax muscles, blurred vision, anxiety, breathlessness, extreme fatigue, almost fainting when standing up (did once), burning mouth syndrome, teeth grinding, scalloped tounge, bleeding gums, teeth pain, blood blowing nose odd times, bad breath, bad odur, burping, post nasel drip, wheezing, inflamed bladder, joint pain and inflammation in muscles, heart burn, coughing up mucus, tonsil stones, sweating, nightmares, heart palpitations, getting rashes on parts of my body, rosacia spots on cheeks, itching legs, nail fungus. I have a scarring alopecia as well and I'm thinking this bad bacteria may have caused it.
Everything started with horrendous hangovers after drinking beer which felt like I had done serious damage to my insides and then had diarrhea but then I started waking in the night with stomach burning and bubbling like mad then waking with extreme nausea which would last all day without drinking any alcohol (don't drink any alcohol now)
That sounds really bad...seems like alcohol has to b out if the menu fr u..i hope ur getting better!
Yeah 2 years of hell until I cut out cornflour, yeast, packaged food, and limited sugar. Mainly eat chicken and rice with veg now and sweet potato with different meat and veg. Sugar makes the yeast bacteria grow which is why alcohol affected me badly and cornflour expands when heated up just like yeast and my immune system realised the yeast was bad so was trying to get rid of it constantly giving me all the horrible symptoms.
I'm a lot better now but can still feel terrible some days. Hoping all the bacteria and yeast killing supplements can get me back to my old self.
Hope you figure out what's causing your stomach problems and make a speedy recovery
I got another 'attack' today..which gave me chills and light headedness i couldnt continue with work and had to leave..just wondering how do you guys cope having ibs at work? My job scope requires me to have alot of interactions with people and tight timelines to follow..with ibs, its been affecting my work..im just worried if i will be out of job one day..
