I take an enteric coated peppermint oil capsule, and I find it relieving for mild symptoms and to help prevent cramping when I'm feeling okay. Enteric coated means that the capsule will not disperse in your stomach, it will disperse in your intestines where it will then be fully absorbed from there. I could feel it the first few times I used it, like a really soothing cool wave of peppermint in my abdomen. I don't tend to feel it so much anymore, perhaps I've just gotten use to it. It's definitely worth a try. I use one by a brand called Heathers, and it also has fennel and ginger in it. Personally though I find ones without enteric coating tend to relieve me more, but they will provoke reflux unlike the enteric coated ones.
