Try eliminating ALL wheat products from your diet...ALL....anything made with ANY kind of flour except for rice and quinoa... this is difficult, I won't lie...but it is the ONLY thing that finally 'solved' my problem.... NO cheating...not one bite... like I said, its hard...this means no cake, pie, bread, pasta (except rice,) ... after a few weeks sneak in a little gluten-free bread.... Best wishes to you!
I had diarrhoea for over a year. Finally was prescribed fybogel with mebeverineto be taken FOUR times a day. This has it under control but not what I would call 'normal'.
I'd try a probiotic before going for anything more drastic. I find Holland & Barrett Acidophilus works for me. Take it first thing on an empty stomach. Alflorex is also supposed to be very good, but is much more expensive. I did previously use Fybogel, with some success, but don't seem to need it since taking the Acidophilus.
I hope things soon improve for you.
Have you been abroad? Could you have a bug? I had a terrible time after going to New York and picked up a bug which eventually antibiotics sorted out. Might be worth speaking to the doctor and mentioning that if you have been abroad. Otherwise, my saviour is silicolgel, doesn't work for everyone but if it is diarrhoea, it has completely sorted out my diarrhoea linked with stress / anxiety related IBS. I cannot travel, eat out, go out without it. It's in Boots.
