Hi guys, I'm only just joining tonight. Recently diagnosed with IBS, having upper endo & colonoscopy tomorrow. Started prep; picolax & glycoprep, no movement yet 😏
Can anyone give advise on the procedure for tomorrow? I'm a nurse & decided to have it in my hospital where I work (feel safe surrounded by people I know)
Thanks guys

Just picked up your post so maybe your procedure's already started. The clean prep is by far the worst part. I've had a couple of colonoscopies without the sedative. A bit uncomfortable but not unbearable. I hate being sedated. It means the gastroenterologist has to be extra careful if you're awake (not they aren't anyway). The air they use to expand the colon during the procedure is easier to expel if you're awake.
Good that you're getting an endoscopy as well. I wasn't offered that.
I have only had a colonoscopy done but several times. I'm a person that wants to be completely put out for this procedure. I think everyone fells different about this. My sister had the endoscopy and also wanted to be put out.
The procedure of drinking the yucky liquid is tough but small price to pay to get the answers we need.
I'm thinking your procedure is done by the time I write, how did it go?
Yes procedure done yesterday. It was supprisingly ok, I slept the whole way through. Results of biopsies back today & it's Chrons disease which I wasn't expecting 😒
Glad you got your answer because the worste is just not knowing. Once you know you can start to process of dealing with and have proper treatment for your disease.
Wow that was fast, my results took forever to come back! Although it didn't help that my doc went on vacay right after!
