Hi am new to this board, still trying to get a diagnosis even, after spending a weak in hospital undergoing various tests, I think I have Ibs - constipation, my question is, is there any particular probiotic yoghurt which may help, please, there are so many out there!

Hi, you may find a combination of prebiotics and probiotics helpful. I'm in the UK but I've started taking an organic prebiotic called inulin (it's a white powder I just sprinkle on my cornflakes and is a form of fibre that works like a fertilizer for your good gut bacteria - I've been told they love it!) I'm dairy intolerant so I take probiotics in a bottle called Acidophilus (they add the good bacteria to your gut) - I've started on the 2billion dose. So far so good! Would recommend. You can get inulin from Amazon and Acidophilus from Holland & Barrett.

I'm very confused by all of this( head in the sand ). If it's fodmaps that irritate the bowel how can good bacteria help ?
