Probiotics: Do they help with IBS symptoms & if... - IBS Network
Probiotics
Since taking Symprove 9 months ago, I am much better and for the past 2 month absolutely no diarrhoea AT ALL.
Wow! Worth a go then, thank you
Probiotic yoghurts are no good if you are lactose intolerant
Quite, mean tabs or caps; thanks
All you can do it try. I tried the yoghurt gave it about 4 months and made no difference to me. Tried tablets from health food shop an entire medium sized jar and no difference last month tried 2 weeks of a powder one and nothing. Hope you have more luck. I am officially giving up on them now!
Hi.
I am taking quest mega 8 biotix which I find brilliant and really recommend them. I got the first box at a health shop but since then have found them cheaper from a healthshop via Amazon. I pay about £11.75-£14 for a box which is expensive but definitely worth it. I keep them in the fridge but you can take some out with you if you are eating out or at work. I take one a day with or just after food. I have had extremely bad diarrhoea over the years and horrendous bowel cramps, I can honestly say that its eased quite a lot since I started these. I have crohn's and functional gut disorder.
I hope this helps and you feel better soon.
Take care x
So happy for you but everyone is different but I will give it ago I have terrible bowel cramps feel like got a fever the pain is so intense but thanku
Plain or natural yoghurt
Prebiotics are worth looking into in conjunction with probiotics, there is a book coming out this month called "the clever guts diet" by Dr Michael Mosely that should make some interesting reading for ibs sufferers based on excerpts on Tv and papers
Hi, I have been using Probiotics for about 2 years now and OMG they changed my life, they are fabulous. I also use Regucol - which is a powder containing Psyllium husk, which helps regulate your bowels. I guarantee if you take both of these your IBS and life will be changed significantly. You can buy both at Holland and Barratt. You will be good on the Probio7 which is a green box or the Probio red box which is stronger. Please try, you won't be disappointed.
Probiotics are great for the bloating - and extremely good for you. The doctor seems to think I have SIBO or PIIBS after my semonella. It didn't really help with my loose stools but if i indeed have SIBO i could be having too many of one type of bacteria in them as it is a broad spectrum and that could keep them softer? But overall they are great.
I, like so many others on Health Unlocked have tried various probiotics and it seems since IBS C and D are so mainstream now there are new products weekly it seems. However we are all different and if someone claims that a particular product is great for them do not be too disappointed if it does zip for you! This is what I have found.
