Hi all,

Lookin for some feedback regarding probiotics for ibs. Had ongoing flare up for some time now and nothin helping to lessen it, my issue is that when I go to the toilet I keep going until nothing left but either mucus and blood, Wears you down. I’ve been lookin at various probiotics that would have most if not all the ingredients that would help your gut and bowels. So many out there and I’ve tried a few over the years, some really expensive an some average, so any feedback or recommendations would be appreciated

Thanks.

Alflorex has helped me. I get the chewable banana and strawberry ones. You can take them at any time of day, doesn't have to be first thing, on an empty stomach. Just don't take anything hot, anywhere near them.

I have tried alflorex in the past and they did help for a wee while, down side is they’re expensive but may try them again.

I take Psyllium Husk Fibre as a prebiotic, and Bio-Cultures Complex as a prebiotic. Both by Nu U off Amazon. Seem to help me.

have you tried POSTbiotics? There’s one called gut wealth that helps with urgency & calming digestive upset

Very effective

I've tried many probiotics and Alflorex worked best for me. They are on the expensive side, but you can get them cheaper on subscription or they have offers on. You can cancel the subscription at any time.

I use Biocare Mindlinx which don't contain fructose. Also use Biotiful Kefir. Biocare have a help line you can call for advise which is helpful and not sales-y. I hope that helps.

I have been taking Alflorex for last couple of months still have stomach cramps but not as excruciating! However I did read that the best natural probiotic is banana and oats - much cheaper!

ripe bananas are high in fodmaps so likely to irritate ibs. Greenish ones are ok just not very tasty and no idea if they are a natural pre/pro biotic. I also find pats a few days in a row set of my IBS but we are all different. Natural kefir helps me and I try to eat a few raw low fodmap veg a day. Good luck.
