Hi, I am going to see my homeopath tomorrow to see if she can help with my IBS at all. I suffer with severe bloating and spasms, and general discomfort, I get mild constipation at rare times, but never diarrhoea. I would be interested to see if anyone has found homeopathy helpful or rubbish for IBS?

Oh and has anyone used a product I have just read about.....Iberogast® (STW 5), sounds good? will be next on my list if the homeopathy doesnt work!!
I've read a research report from a medical source (Sorry - can't remember where) of complementary medicines and IBS - that said that Iberogast looked promising. I tried it but the peppermint in it made me pass more wind. I don't do well with peppermint, some people I'm sure are okay with it. It's worth a try. Look on the website for instructions - mine came with leaflet in Russian!
Do let us know. I have been recommended to see several. But I am dubious.
Hi PatV, I have used her for several other problems, most of which were caused/knock on effect of antibiotics, so I can defo say Homeopathy does work and seriously impressed me, I just cant believe its taken me so long to ask her to work on it....think its been my slightly reserved/dubious side, but so far so good, fingers seriously crossed and double crossed, even if it only reduces the outbreaks I will be happy!!!!
Well guys, started my homeopathic remedies friday 29th, eaten and drank booze ALOT, so should have/will be getting a kick in the ribs for it, but dare I say (please please please be kind) no symptoms just yet!! Im not saying it wont still happen, but so far so good...will keep you posted!! EEEEEK so excited
Update......unfortunately I had an IBS attack weds last week, I wonder if its the fruit I ate (had raspberries, strawberries & grapes at work). Still taking the homeopathic remedies, so I guess my course of treatment is yet finished, so I am still staying hopeful that it may stop it, and I have to remember it took 2 courses of remedies to cure my scalp infection last year, so the old IBS may need a couple goes to kick its ass??
Hey, Update again......so last attack was 11th Sept (im glad I wrote it down on here now cause I forgot), and I havent had an attack since, I still have 1 weeks worth of remedies left to use but dare I say (HATE to tempt fate) but no attacks since......altho I will say (hard to describe, so in my own words here guys) its like my tummies saying "here we go, attack attack attack".....but then nothing? my tummy is un-settled and acts like its going to have an IBS attack, but then nothing happens? its very strange, altho I have been eating a little more than usual and drinking during the week (naughty me I know) but so far so good! Will keep you posted again as to what happens, but as I said before, im not sure if I will need a second course of remedies as I did for my scalp infection to clear it up, but im hopeful (what else can I be) that it will make my tummy a happier place, permanently??? ..............forgot to say, still taking my probiotics in Kefir grain form, altho it never really did anything to help on its own before the remedies, so I do wonder if I should keep taking it (as it taste yuck and smells in my kitchen lol) but I guess its all good healthy stuff for the gut, maybe I will reduce from daily to 2 daily like my friend does.
Damn it......got an IBS attack now, so so gutted, was doing so well as well! oh well, we keep on trying eh
