IBS research project

Hi Guys, I am doing my final year project on the topic of IBS. The study is looking at whether anxiety, depression, resilience, stress, mindfulness and personality differences are associated with the severity of IBS symptoms. My interest comes from personal experience of IBS, which I find most painful when/if combined with stress. I would like to note that my hypothesis is NOT that IBS is in "our heads", however I do think that the symptoms become more severe under certain circumstances. The study is a bit longish and will take around 15 mins to complete, but if you have some spare time, please please help me get the data so I can run the analysis and see whether there are any links. I promise I will let you know of my findings (all data will be kept confidential) and the results will hopefully help to understand the link between each factor and the severity of symptoms. I hope this post doesn't bother you guys too much! Thank you to all of you who have already participated in my study, I appreciate your help very very much!!!

Thank you very much Vicksean, welcome to the club, hope your symptoms are on the mild side! There are some diet plans available (fodmaps) to help manage IBS, however I find it that it all is very individual, some people can't have veg, some people are okay with that, so you should literally listen to your gut. All the best to you!!!

Hi, Thank you for your interest, please follow the link surveygizmo.com/s3/1911129/IBS where you will be able to find all of the information on the front sheet, but in short, I am looking at whether personality differences, resilience, mindfulness, stress, anxiety and depression are linked to the severity of IBS symptoms. The project has also been approved by the ethics committee. I will post the findings (your data will be kept confidential) once the data has been analysed!!! Thank you very much in advance!!!
