My Experience with Chemo/Radiotherapy

I was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in December 2012. At that time it was misdiagnosed as a GBM4 but a recurrence in 2019 sent me to hospital again where it was finally rediagnosed as an AO3.

Like the GBM4, an AO3 is still terminal but gives one plenty more time on this earth.

I never had radiotherapy the first time round, just 5/28 cycles of temozolomide for the best part of eight years, and that was full-dose TMZ, not the partial doses.

I handled it remarkably well, except for when I missed taking my anti-sickness tablet whilst we were on holiday - I was vomiting for hours.

Since my AO3 diagnosis, I have had chemo/radiotherapy which, again, has all gone smoothly without any problems whatsoever. The only downside is that I have had to hand in my driving licence for a period of two years, which is just coming to an end and I have already reapplied.

Hoping this finds you all well,

Stuart.
