Zytiga

He says there are other pills I can choose to take instead, such as Zytiga with a parp inhibitor, Opdivo or Nirapared, but still thinks the chemo or clinical trial are better choices for me. I'm getting a second opinion, but any insights you guys might have would be helpful. Thanks, Joe Mason

I am 19 months into my 2 years on ADT + Zytiga & P. 6 months into it, I started experiencing severe hot flashes. Severe = Full body sweats, dripping off my brow, palms wet and needing to mop it off my chest or change my shirt. Every 1 -2 hours. I tried 4 antidepressants that didn't work.

On another board I read someone saying they have heard that patients taking Zytiga are more prone to develop neuroendocrine cancer than those taking other therapies. Is there any truth to this at all ?

(Bladder cancer, chronic fatigue), chronic bacterial prostatitis) For those of you who added Zytiga, what were your additional side effects?

I'm looking at page 53 in these guidelines - https://www.nccn.org/patients/guidelines/content/PDF/prostate-advanced-patient.pdf Zytiga is starting to fail my husband so he will be getting another PSMA scan in a few weeks and looking at what's next. He does have a somatic BRCA2 genetic defect.

Is it well studied to be effective long term as are Zytiga and Xtandi ?

He recommends starting with ADT with Zytiga. He doesn't think that Docetaxel is warranted right now unless the genomic test on the biopsy tissue shows high risk markers. He also recommends radiating the prostate plus SBRT to the pelvis mets and to keep chemo as an option for later if needed.

I am on ADT, lupron and Zytiga, at Kaiser Oakland. My latest PSA came back as <0.1. My MO sent me a message with the results: "congratulations, great news, your PSA is undetectable!"

After 1 year of Lupron, and Zytiga. So, now Im looking at 2 more years of Lupron (FML), and 1 more year of Zytiga. MO and RO both said to follow STAMPEDE trial. I want to follow SSPORT trial!! Odd thing, my Testosterone yesterday was 4, not<4 as has been the past year. Should I be concerned?

My primary treatment was Zytiga and it is still working. I take a concoction of vitamins and regularly do hot cold therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Side affects on your hormones from the meds will always be hard work but the longer it goes on the less the side affects appear impactful.

After Zytiga and Medrol were added. PSA declined to .40 in February 2024. While I have been happy with recent treatment, the meds brought on joint and muscle pain and aggravated mobility issues (previous back surgery, three collapsed vertebrae).

Currently on Orgovyx (joy) and have done Erleada and Zytiga,but not Xtandi. Any thoughts on possible options?

Tried Zytiga, S/E were too much. My Dad passed 5/22. One month later had my first PSMA PET. Found out I had mets to my bones. I freaked out. Had Provenge. Tried getting onto a clinical trial; I had to cease taking a med that was crucial to my wellbeing.

On Nov 1, my cancer was diagnosed as castrate resistant. Abiraterone and Prednisone was added to Lupron. On November 3 I had a Lupron shot and started Abiraterone and Prednisone on November 10. Today I had a PSA test. My PSA dropped from 0.8 on November 1 to 0.44 today. I was not expecting such dramatic

He then went on zytiga for about 7 months before it started failing. He did get accepted in the luteciun trial at Penn on control arm. He did very well on Xtandi but was ended this past Aug when Penn saw progression but the trial folks did not so no cross over allowed.

He was in remission for awhile (unsure exactly how long as he was secretive about the whole thing) however it made a huge comeback in January of 2022 and he has been through a short stint of chemo as well as Apaludimine which worked well for about a year then stopped working and he moved on to Zytiga

He is on Zytiga but PSA doubled in the last 6 months. He had a PSMA Scan this past week and came back with a Score 5. Wondering if anyone else out there has gotten this result and what the next line of treatment is. We haven't reviewed results with the doctor yet.
