Frustrated and confused, advice needed with results with more complete numbers.... thank you!
After posting a few days ago, I finally got the GP to give me all my results. I hope some of you may be able to point me in the right direction. After switching to a new gp and trying and testing different doses of T4 (currently on 75) and T3 (currently on 20mcg), here are my test results: TSH 0.01

Trying out different vitamins
My original count was 33 when o found out I had ITP about 9 weeks ago I looked up many items on ITP and some said diet and vitamins helped. I thought I would give it a try. I totally changed my diet and stopped drinking alcohol I don't know if it is a coincidence or not as I know they can jump up and

Solgar - general vitamins discussion
Hi everyone, I bought a couple of vitamins from Solgar after some sensible advise on here. I have received Solgar Formula VM 2000 and Solgar Omega 3. I need to get iron as my level are at 13ug/l (11.0-336.0). So will either get Solgar or continue with the one the doctor prescribed until they run out.

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Fish - Marine Omega-3 - EPA & DHA
This is a companion piece to "Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Fish", that considers marine omega-3 from seafood & supplements, & attempts to explain why it may be important in PCa, in spite of conflicting studies. Human studies have yielded confusing results. One might expect inconsistencies between populations

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Fish
Fish is a problem topic. Like chicken, a lot of it is served deep-fried. There is also the complication of the sheer number of types of fish. Then there are the the distinctions of salt versus freshwater; fatty versus lean; farmed versus wild-caught; the waters they were caught in; the omega-3 content

Transdermal Estrogen + ADT {was Zometa}
Very timely, considering my mention of estradiol [E2] patches as an alternative to
Zometa
for ADT-related osteoporosis. I was a bit cautious in the
Zometa
post, because I'm not aware of a study that showed that an estradiol patch could eliminate the risk of osteoporosis while on ADT.

First cycle
Hi everyone! DH and I are just starting our first cycle, we are using ICSI due to his low motility. I took norethisterone for ten days and am supposed to bleed before the baseline scan. We have this booked for Wednesday, though I haven't started bleeding yet... I just wanted to introduce myself and ask

Tomato-based randomized controlled trial
New Norwegian study below. It's one of those small-populaton 3-week pre-surgery intervention studies that are useful for building hypotheses, but don't really prove much. In this case, 79 participants split between two arms & controls: "1) tomato products containing 30 mg lycopene per day" "2) tomato

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Arachidonic acid [AA]
So much for my alphabetic tour - I am back at the letter "A". Arachidonic acid [AA] is an omega-6 fatty acid. I have written a number of posts on inflammation over the years. Most of the chronic diseases, including cancer, are inflammatory in nature. Doctors tend to look at inflammation as a symptom

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Alpha-Linolenic Acid [ALA]
When terms are new to people, eyes can start to glaze. But I think the gist will get through. Skip past the double-bond stuff if so inclined. Alpha-linolenic acid is an omega-3 fatty acid. It has a backbone of 18 carbons, with double-bonds at positions 9, 12 & 15 (the last is 3 from the end, which

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Beef
[1] Introduction. Unlike chicken, which has largely been ignored by PCa-Diet studies, beef has been scrutinized for a quarter of a century. Almost all of the studies are American. According to one beef industry source, Americans eat about 80 lbs of beef each year. Pork is about 51 lbs. Unfortunately

APO B, Say what?
OK guys, here's a bunch of stuff from Ivor Cummins. Now from my point of view, and I am seriously cogent with the biochemistry, it's a bit much. If you are a researcher getting into the nuts and bolts great, but if someone looking for answers this will put you off. If so, here's what you need to consider
