Bone density and alendronic acid
My dexa scan results aren’t good although I do not yet have oesteoperosis. I will be having blood tests to see if I am deficient in vitamin D. I don’t think I am. I have read some horrific stories regarding alendronic acid and if it is recommended , I am reluctant to take it. Does anyone know of a good

This journey is so tough...
Starting cycle 2 25th September and I'm terrified of failure again. It's costing so much which is added stress. I'm so scared it'll fail again. I'm literally on every supplement under the sun... My ova, inofolic, dhea, high strength vitamin D and c, folic acid, pregnacare, coq10, omega 3. Due to start

Hot Flushes
Hi, it's been a while since I posted, I have been following the advice given and support from members. I am still in what Drs call sub clinical Hashimotos Thyroiditis, still not being treated for it as my labs are all in range. My TSH goes between 3.39 to 6.03 currently it is 4.39. Same labs and ranges

Migraine with Aura
When I first started suffering from migraines in 97 I often had migraines with aura and spent many a lesson in the first aid room waiting for the aura to pass. Once I hit puberty the aura part of the migraine tailed off and apart from one odd attack I have not suffered with migraine aura for 15 years

Thyroid and other labs
I have been feeling hyperthyroid lately so have been decreasing Thyroid-S over several months, from 5 to 3 grains, without much symptom relief I might add. My latest labs from Sept 09 read as follows: TSH <0.01 mUI/L (0.35-4.5) free T4 ng/dL 0.7 (0.7-1.5) free T3 pg/mL 2.7 (1.6-3.2) I usually take Thyroid-S

Thoughts on IVF success?
Just read an old post on here which suggests ladies who have first time success usually don't have problems themselves and is much more likely to lie with the guys. Started to get me worried. My OH has 2 children from his marriage then had a vasectomy. He has since had it reversed which has been successful

Endocrine regulation of multichromatic color vision
Don't try to get me to explain this! Just reporting the direct impact of thyroid hormone on colour vision is an important step. There have been some posts here which mentioned shifts in colour perception. What has, perhaps, not been clear is where the shift happens. This paper appears to indicate it

If I was allergic to Alendronate won't I also be allergic to Risedronate?
as it is in the same group of bisphonates? I queried this with gp as I came out in hives after the couple of times I took AA. As I didn't have an anaphylactic shock he said I should try Risedronate, he didn't seem very confident that I wouldn't have hives from this when I asked him. It seems to me

Petition to teach epilepsy in PSHE lessons in schools
As of 2020 First Aid will be taught in schools, that’s in PSHE lessons. They will learn about seizures and the recovery position as part of First Aid, BUT they won’t be taught anything specifically about epilepsy! It’s time we taught school children what epilepsy actually is, what causes it, who can

New studies finds Flax seed can lead to Cyanide poisoning!
In many countries , Flax seeds also known as Linseeds are being treated as Superfood due to the presence of its Fiber and Alapha Linolenic Acid known as plant omega -3 . Vegans and vegetarians use this as source of plant omega 3, though hardly 2-3% of ALA may get converted to EPA/ DHA in human body

How Does Smoking Affect Sleep??
I'm passing this on from one of our members, BlueEyedGal Each year, nearly 6 million people die worldwide from tobacco use and related diseases. Smoking has a long list of health risks, including cancer, depression, anxiety, heart disease, and much, much more. But smoking also interferes with your sleep

Thank-you to all who responded to my post in July. Stress=Cortisol; too much pain to even think, but things are improving & this is why...
Stress is a killer - we all know it. I am hashimoto's. I have adrenal fatigue and I have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I have 17 known food intolerances. Posture and seating for me are vital, as is sleep!...this is what happened to me... The medical profession discusses 'stress' everywhere, but just how
