Saw this article from 4/28/2016, "Biolyse Pharma offers to supply enzalutamide (Xtandi) for $3 per pill to Medicare and developing countries
" - does anyone know if Xtandi can be had for $3 per pill or less in Canada or anywhere else?
Background - March 2018 - had bilateral orchiectomy, then 45 sessions of IGRT, taking Bicadex daily, PSA went down to 0.4, then February 2019 PSA went up to 27, July 30 PSA was up to 100. Urologist advised to continue Bicadex, take Caltrate plus, Alendronic Acid and Xtandi. Shocked to hear about Xtandi cost. I'm a retired detective from a developing country and my pension wouldn't even cover half the Xtandi cost. I'm guessing I'll just have to wait for my time if I can't find a more affordable Xtandi source or substitute.

You won't get it for $3.00 a pill in Canada. At least not in the province I live in. When I started Xtandi (enzalutamide) in September 2017 I asked the pharmacist what was the cost per pill. Initially he wasn't going to tell me but after a little prodding he said $40.00 a pill. Four pills a day = $160.00 x 365 days = $58,400 CDN a year. Medical health is a provincial responsibility so this amount may vary from province to province. In our province Xtandi is covered by the Cancer Agency and MSP (Medical Services Plan). Hope that helps!
Greetings from NZ where we are welcoming the cricket season. Do you know how one might get access to this enzalutamide source that you describe. Presumeably a prescription is necessary, from a registered doctor? You can answer me in a personal message if you would rather. Rob
