does the hot weather effect your asthma?
so i have been given some antibiotics as i have a slight rattle on my chest and some prednisilone for a week and they have upped my symbicort. my peak flow right now average is 610 but my throat feels a bit tight, it is warm today though i am always reluctant to use my ventolin because of my anxiety,

Am I at risk of an attack?
Here's a overview of my relationship with the condition. I've had Asthma since a early age. I was hospitalised about 4 years of age and had to have a nebuliser then, but not anything serious like that ever since. I've recently got a spacer and I'm taking Ventolin and a 125 dose of Seritide 2 puffs, twice

combisal versus seretide
Is anyone else finding that combisal is not as effective as seretide? I have been having lower peak flow readings with combisal. Also it is harder to press down so that the metered dose is not accurate.

Peak flow reducing on ICS
Hi, can anyone tell me why my son's peak flow is lower since using seretide? His highest is 210 and he's just been gradually getting lower over about 4 months and had now been consistently around 150 about 2 months. The only time that it has gone back up is when he has had ibuprofen.

Low peak flow value?
Age 23, male, 5'10 inches. Weight 165lbs I have asthma and was using fostair 200/6 and reliever inhaler. Nurse changed me to Seretide 250 from the fostair due to persistent shortness of breathe and breathing difficulties. My peakflow for the last year has been 400-450. My PB this year was 450 i think

Coughing and wheezing when trying to do Peak Flow reading
Hello, have had horrible temperature and achey cold for last 5 days. Feeling quite breathless now it's moved down out of my sinuses and nose into throat and top of chest. Been trying to get peak flow readings to see if its anything to be concerned about asthma wise, but really difficult to complete hard

Asthma, hayfever and peak flow monitoring
I have just been diagnosed with asthma and given a blue inhaler (1-2 puffs up to 4 times a day as needed) and a peak flow monitor to track peak flow throughout the day. The morning measurements are much lower than midday and afternoon measurements. I take the blue inhaler when needed, normally in the

Hi all, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I had asthma as a child for years and it magically disappeared when I reached my teens. It came back with a vengeance in my late 20s and I started to experience my first ever attacks. Unfortunately my asthma has never behaved in the standard way. I

Unstable peak flow
So on day 6 out of 20 days of various tapering steroids. I’m taking regular ventolin thoughout the day and night. I keep on getting my peak flow up to 380/400 but then keeps on dropping 250/280 and can’t get it to stay up. I’m due at the chest clinic on Thursday afternoon so trying to hold out for

Really worried - new to this Asthma stuff - PF 150 morning & night
Hi there, apologies for convoluted explanation but I’m wondering whether anyone has experienced the same. I’m really not sure what I should be doing. Mid Nov I had a dental abscess flair up and the following week have had symptoms of severe breathlessness for the past 6 months. I was given 5 rounds of

Newly diagnosed at 40 & Ventolin questions! Long, sorry!
My GP says I have adult onset asthma. I joined the gym a couple of months ago and while I was getting very breathless and coughing quite a bit during a workout I assumed it was just because I was unfit, and it felt like my body could do more but my breathing wouldn’t allow it. However I was wheezing

Oh, crumbs!
I am due to leave early Sunday morning for a conference centre in north Ireland, and I will be there for 5 days. But I got a slight cold. No worries, but it has triggered my asthma a bit. So far, if I was not going away, I would monitor but not be concerned, not at this stage. I am feeling slightly breathless

Husband still suffering eosinophilic asthma mentioned but not yet diagnosed.
Hi, my husband has been ill since 27th December, he has had hospital visits and turned away saying he has sinusitis, a cold etc... then was admitted at the end of January. They still haven't diagnosed asthma but said it is likely eosinophilic asthma due to extremely high eosinophils. His symptoms are

What are your asthma flares like?
Question for the community: what are your severe asthma flares like? I’m in the middle of one and really struggling. The way mine manifest is: 1) I encounter a mild allergen such as dust or pet hair on someone’s clothes 2) I get allergic then the asthma kicks in and it becomes progressively hard to take
