Thank you so much to all the people who replied to my post re tooth pain and xgeva. I did visit my dentist who confirmed there is no sign of infection with an X-ray. I have still got some tooth pain and earache. Actually two weeks ago I had a biopsy of something suspicious at the base of tongue which showed up on pet scan and then MRI. It involved general anaesthetic and my throat is still quite sore. I understand that they might have used a gum shield at some point and wonder whether it has bruised my jaw on one side where I don’t actually have many teeth. Not got results of biopsy back yet. It seems this drug could cause a load of problems but if I stop taking it, is there an alternative treatment for a lesion in my back? I am on fulvestrant injections and ribociclib and seem to be tolerating them well with no side effects.

I read that if you started on a bisophonate then moved to a denonusab (Xgeva) you could circle back to a bisophonate. I suppose that’s as long as you don’t get onj. Good luck Chris

The fulvestrant and ribo should take care of the lesion on your back. The biphosphonates and Xgeva are really more for osteoporosis. The estrogen inhibitors and degraders can cause or advance osteoporosis.

Sounds like the tooth pain and ear ache could be from the docs messing around with your jaw and mouth, not ONJ. My ONJ still shows up as a thinning of the jaw bone, which they can see in x-rays.

Yes we did and when I stopped Xgeva my spinal end plate collapsed. Still walking but also have 2 compression fractures. At least the cancer is stable for the moment in Verzenio and Faslodex. Hope you’re well Chris
