Nervous about upcoming bypass surgery
Hello all. I’ve got heart bypass scheduled soon and worries are creeping in. It’s all happened really fast with me being in my early 40s and fairy active. Then being told post angiogram that a triple bypass is needed (mainly due to genetics I’m told). Any advice would be great.

"Remodelling" of the heart
A member has lately said that the MDs have advised him to go for an ablation as soon as possible (he is in his 50-ties) in the course to prevent "remodelling" of the heart. I do believe in their good intention, but am puzzled if that really is so. The normal heart operation is with the coooperation

Metoprolol
I have a CT angiogram tomorrow at 0830 and have been given two tablets of Metoprolol (50mg) to take 12 hrs and then 2hrs before the procedure. This is apparently to slow the heart down (to below 60bpm). I rang the hospital and told them that I already take Sotalol and my heart rate is generally slow

Never Ending
I was only diagnosed a week ago, after a weekend of being in AFib, went to the ER. Confirmed. It's been non stop ever since. I am now on Xarelto and Metoprolol 50 x2 a day. NO relief. Most of my ECG readings show heart rate around 130-140. BP mostly ok--a bit high, but not awful. I find myself

Pregnancy pain relief
Wondering if anyone has any tips for pain relief while pregnant? I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant and today I've really struggled with pain across my entire back, to the point I've laid in bed sobbing tonight. My usual go to would be deep heat/voltarol/ibuprofen gel but none are able to be used during

AF taking a different direction??
Had an AF attack yesterday and it was terminated after 3 hours with my PIP 200 mg Flecainide and half a metoprolol tablet. This is about average and I have attacks every 7 to 10 days. After a few hours rest I went for a walk but didn’t feel great, lethargic and generally off par. I kept checking my apple

Pain is killing me
Hi, I had a quadruple heart bypass just before my 51st birthday 4 years ago, I have since been left with nerve damage in my torso. They said it would have happened from an underlying issue ok. Then just over a year ago I had womb cancer and had a total hysterectomy but now with my nerve damage I am in

Can medication be reduced after a certain time with no problems?
In 2012 I had a heart attack which resulted in the insertion of a stent, fortunately prompt treatment meant there was no major damage to my heart, although I started getting AF attacks in 2016. In 2017 I started taking 100mg of Flecainide and this was successful in stopping my AF attacks. In 2020 I
