friend with MS… interesting parallels
hi just sharing as this intrigued me. Visited a friend I haven’t seen for 12 years recently, she moved away. She was diagnosed with MS just before she left and talking to her I learned the following. MS support group recommended loading dose of 40,000 iu Vit D then 8,000 a day more in winter. This

Falling apart
Just had my first ever Medichecks results through and some (most) are pretty bad although all have that lovely green mark! All supplements were stopped about 6 weeks ago - long story but I've only just got round to doing the test. Test taken at 9am with just water beforehand and last dose of Levothyroxine

Osteopenia?
A chat with the doctor's nurse and the diagnosis of of osteopenia. Osteopenia is the first stage before osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is when you break bones by falling. I fall now and then but it's because of peroneal nerve entrapment. The peroneal nerve lifts my toes. Without its help I trip

Hi, after OH had high Tsh Levels a couple of weeks a go (radioactive iodine 14 tears a go) gp prescribed higher dose of thyroxine - now 175Results from medicheck above Low vit d - would this affect the thyroxine absorption? If he sorts that would it then be sensible to reduce the thyroxine back down

Recommendations for Endos in/near Berkshire
Just wondered if anyone has any recommendations for endos in or around Berkshire if they could pm me. I have seen one recently who has said he doesn't think I've ever had a thyroid problem as I was borderline when diagnosed but still have many symptoms. My TSH is very low but I am on a combination

Well at least that’s one less thing to worry about.
I’m so pleased to learn that my recent dexa scan after seven years of prednisolone is normal and unchanged from three years ago. Not being a pill popper before diagnosis I have struggled to take the calcium and Vit D supplement and Alendronic Acid which were prescribed as routine by my GP. A dexa scan

I’ve been trying to get stable on t3/4 combination, still a way to go as last results after increasing to 10 mcg liothyronine in 2 doses were the worst yet, t3 and t4 both at bottom of range, vitamin D draining away again despite supplements. I’ve increased levothyroxine back up to 75 ( I was advised

Getting myself in a hell of a muddle!
I have been on levothyroxine for 10+ years and never had a problem (well not since the early years) - I have been getting along nicely on a dose of 75 for the last few years. I was at the GP's a few weeks ago about something not related to my thyroid and happened to mention in the conversation that

Hubby and his heart
My husband had bad flu over Christmas and since then has had huge issues with breathlessness, bloating, fluid retention and fatigue. He's had ECG's, MRI , chest x-ray and bloods. This has shown up that he has fluid around his heart as it's just not pumping properly, is severely anaemic and his vitamin
