long term omeprazole use
I was taking omeprazole for about 15 years and stopped in December last year, as I had done some research and found out it can affect stomach acid. No one told me to stop taking it. I don’t even know why I was put on it in the first place, up I think it was for IBS. I haven’t had any acid reflux or indigestion

Origin of Loading
Does anyone know the origin of the practice of prescribing loading doses? For lack of better information I have been using the assumption that it is a hol over from when B12 was first synthesized over 1/2 a century ago. That the practice originated when B12 deficiency was thought to be a hematological

Strange Results
Hi, I was diagnosed with PA in 2013/14 and was given injections for a while but that stopped a good few years ago. I had tests done via Endo a while back and they said my levels were fine despite no injections/supplements. I had tests done in May 2023 and the active b12 came back as high. It showed

Folate timing
Good morning, I’m taking folate as we’re trying for a baby and I’ve read this is better than folic acid. My question is do I need to take it at a different time to levothyroxine? I take it 30 mins to an hour after, but I’m not sure if it’s like iron and should be several hours apart. Many thanks for

Help Interpreting Results
Hi. Can I have advice on results? These are from a while back for anyone who has read my recent posts. I was on 1 tablet of T3 a day at this point. I previously had high thyroid antibodies but the LDN I take seems to have lowered them to be in range. I was wondering if the same has happened with pernicious

Should I be pushing for further investigation? Help appreciated ❤️
Hi everyone, It's my first post here after watching over the last few weeks! I'm from the UK and having a bit of a mare getting my GP to seriously investigate what's wrong with me. I'd really appreciate your advice on my blood test results in particular. Apologies in advance for the essay 🙈. Skip to

Just a moan - appointment cancelled
So just need a quick rant to people who understand so I can move on and get on with my day. Booked my 8 weekly jab no options on the day only 2 days before or a week late, was told they'd have to message the GP for permission to book early so I explained that by a week late I will be feeling very ill

symptoms flare-up
I have been battling an iron deficiency since November, that seems to be a result of my correcting b12 deficiency with shots. I have not been taking the full recommended dose of iron until about a week ago. My ferritin is 25, which is up from 14, but still deficient. The last 3 weeks or so I have notice

Anyone noticed growth restriction with Ritalin?
HI folks, my 9 year old has finally - thankfully - been diagnosed with ADHD and needs medication for sure BUT he's already skinny and midrange height for his age. So I'm worried about starting him on Ritalin (what's available in this country). Has anyonehad a child on Ritalin for a year/few years and

Homocysteine Nutrients
https://www.seekinghealth.com/products/homocysteine-nutrients I really like the sound of this product but I’m concerned about the B vitamins that are missing, namely B3 and B1. It also doesn’t have inositol, choline or biotin, although I don’t know how important they

Vitamin D loading dose issue
Hi all, I was prescribed 50,000 iu Vitamin D3 (SunVit brand) to take weekly for 6 weeks. I took my first dose on Tuesday last week, since then I’ve been experiencing quite severe tension headaches, dizzy spells, tummy issues and anxiety. The headaches were unbearable and from the moment I woke up

Don't panic
Don't panic. Read books. Start with Learn the Facts about Kidney Disease by Steven Rosansky, MD. He thoroughly covers it in all stages. Although you need to make changes in your life, preserve your remaining kidney function, you're not going to die next week and probably never end up on dialysis. Don't

T3 Trial continued
Medichecks 20 March 2024 History:
Hypothyroid (after RAI in c2004)
Spent 2023 improving folate, B12, Vit D although ferritin still poor. Came off PPIs and now take Gaviscon twice daily. Gastritis issues ongoing though. Officially a poor converter (dud DIO2) so really wanted to try T3 Gluten
