Post Covid Queries!
Hi! I tested positive for Covid 2 weeks ago… it’s caused an asthma flare but luckily I got prescribed steroids for a week which, along with my Fostair and Ventolin inhalers, kept things stable enough for me to stay home. My GP signed me off for a further week after my 1st week of self certifying, however

Bronchiectasis and use Pulmicort with tooth issues.
Hello, I have Bronchiectasis and use Pulmicort. I cannot do this at the moment due to a temporary filling. Will be in until after Christmas. Worried the force may pop it out when nothing open. I have fragile teeth. Had to stop using my Acapella. Therefore switched to upping my breathing exercises

Five year old non stop dry cough
I'm at the end of my tether. Our five year old has had 7 asthma "flares" since starting school in September. The asthma nurse tells us we have to manage these with ventolin. They last three to four days, he coughs absolutely non stop, gets out of breath talking and doesn't sleep. They refuse to prescribe

How To Tell If Ventolin Inhaler Is Running Out?
Hi! So I have been diagnosed with Asthma for the last few years, my main trigger is pollen/hay fever… I have been very well controlled since switching from the brown Clenil to the pink Fostair 100/6… however I have contracted Covid, which has triggered an Asthma flare (currently on Steroids which seem

Chest infection confusion
Hey everyone. So this has happened twice now with similar sets of symptoms. Recent symptoms: Basically severely reduced peak flow (150 during the attacks, max is 470, about 250/280 now, so I'm well into amber still), been in and out of hospital the last few days with asthma attacks, increased work

Asthma and Covid Experiences Please!
Hi, so after feeling pretty rubbish yesterday with a sore throat, spiking temp and barking sounding cough, today I have tested positive for Covid on a lateral flow after avoiding the damn thing for 3 years! I have asthma, so am understandably worrying! I am waiting for a call back from GPs as my peak

Refusal to give nebuliser at A & E. Has anyone else experienced this?
I had the misfortune to have to attend A&E with an asthma attack. I feel very let down and wonder why I bothered. I had just visited a relative in hospital when it happened. I gave myself 10 puffs of ventolin in a spacer and when no improvement set off walking very slowly, the relatively short distance

Asthma symptoms since chest infection
I had a chest infection 6 weeks ago, and every since I seem to be having a lot of trouble with my asthma. Before the infection I was very well controlled on my preventer (fostair) and not needed my ventolin since February. After 2 courses of oral steriods it seemed to improve but not fantastic, still

Managing asthma while reducing steroids
Hi, hope you’re all ok. I’ve been lucky that I’ve been steroid free for about 5months and my asthma’s been fairly under control, which for me means taking ventolin maybe 2 or 3 days a week and sometimes several times during ‘that’ day. I recently caught a cold and I’ve been really congested with sinus

Can exercise trigger symptoms days later?
Hi, I've just started doing cross fit classes which are really intense. Did a class a couple of days ago and did need my ventolin but was ok. Two days later I woke up with tight chest (PF was down) but not aware of any triggers so I'm wondering if it's a late reaction to the stress I put on my lungs

Ventolin running out too quickly
My son (14) was prescribed a ventolin inhaler a few months ago because he was getting asthma symptoms during hard exercise. 1-2 puffs works brilliantly when the inhaler is new but is stops being effective after a few weeks when it is still half-full (checked by weighing). We've tried very thorough

struggling to cope with COPD
I posted some time ago but feel I need further advice and this forum seems to be the best place to receive it. As yet due to COVID I have yet to have a spirometry test. The doctor just tells me he thinks I have mild COPD and I have a ventolin inhaler to use when I am wheezy. My peak flow is usually
