stepping down ....yeah!
Hello everyone, haven't been on here for some time now, lots going on and no time for myself! Anyway, since my last bad chest infection in April time, where the gp was contemplating long term steroids, my asthma has been brilliant. I've only had symptoms 3-4 times and therefore barely used my ventolin

Is it really asthma?
Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with asthma following a bout of whooping cough as a baby. In and out of hospital a lot as a child. Grew out of it at the age of 11, but it came back following a bereavement when I was in my 30's. I'm 62 now, and on Symbicort (which gives me horrendous leg and foot cramps

Monteleukast being stopped
I had an asthma review today and after 10 years of stabilised asthma using only my Ventolin inhaler and Monteleukast my doctor is going to stop the Monteleukast because she says it works better with a steroid inhaler and therefore should only be taken with a steroid inhaler. I stopped my steroid after

preventer inhaler over the counter
Both my ventolin accuhaler and my Symbicort turbohaler ran out a few days ago. the only way I can get new ones is to request via my doctor which takes ""up to 5 working days"" I managed to get one of the pump ventolin ones from a&e but I struggle to use these (always have) had to buy a aerochamber spacer

Son 16 months steroids
Hi this is the first time posting. Looking for advice for my son. He is on ventolin and clenil inhalers. He had what they thought was bronchilitus last winter and a few hospital admissions for nebuliser and oxygen. He continued wheezing/coughing and in April was referred to a paediatrician. Since

When I Went Hoof Trimming...
A few years ago...when I had asthma rather than COPD...and a quick inhalation of the wonderful Ventolin was enough to get me breathing again...I used to go with a friend when she trimmed horses and donkeys hooves. She wasn't a farrier...but a simple foot trimmer. And she twisted my arm to come along

When to use nebuliser
I was wondering how often peoe use their nebuliser and how you decide it's the time to use it. I take 2 puffs of 250 Seretide twice a day with a spacer and ventolin as and when needed. But this time of year, with the usual chest infection, on antibiotics and steroids, just wondering if using the nebuliser
