Asthma in young child
Hi, today I took my 3 year old daughter to our gp. Shes had a severe cough for 4 weeks, wheezing and shortness of breath on exertion. The gp suspects asthma and has given her ventolin inhaler with spacer & mask. I'm struggling to get my daughter to take it properly. She panics with the mask and gets

Shiny new inhaler
Telephoned the Drs this morning and got an appointment for today (yes I'm one of the lucky ones if I phone first thing 99.9% of the time I can get a same day appointment) coughing, wheezing, tight chest (I've got a cold) chest is clear so no infection 👍🏻And thankfully my dr didn't want me to go on more

Asthma and the relentless cough
Hi everyone! I'm really glad I found this forum and I am hoping you can help me. I got diagnosed (finally) with asthma at 16 and was prescribed with blue ventolin reliever inhalers and with pink foster ( Beclometasone dipropionate) inhalers. I am now 21 and they have always done the trick, and prevented

Plagued by Thick Mucus.
hi - i've been using ventolin for a couple of years - it used to work but now the phlegm problem is getting worse & it sometimes makes me wretch when i try to clear it. it's clear/grey & very sticky just like wallpaper paste - when i try to spit it out it actually hangs in suspension from my mouth.

5 lots of antibiotics since 1st January
I am really fed up. I got a sore throat over Christmas which developed into a chest infection. Was given doxycycline for 7 days. Am on Flutiform 250/10, 2 puffs twice a day plus ventolin, avymss nasal spray. Since then, I have had 4 more lots of either doxycycline or ciprofloxacin, plus 30 mg of prednisone

BacterialChest Infection And Asthma
I have had asthma and lung problems for many years.About. 15 years ago I had the bottom lobe of my right lung removed for suspected cancer but lucky me it was not. I have had bad bouts of asthma now and then and a couple of years ago breathlessness reared its ugly head and nothing worked so I was referred

Asthma not behaving
I started my new spring/summer routine this Monday. Taking myself off as agreed with my new asthma nurse stepping down to Flixoide 250 one puff a day from Seretide 250 twice a day. Last year I was fine on this routine but on Monday night the cough started so I reach for my Ventolin two puffs. Then yesterday

A Carer's frustration
Over several years, I have become increasingly more heavily involved in caring for an elderly relative of my ex ( ex is blind so still running around after him too...) The gentleman still smokes, has been hospitalised twice for exacerbation of COPD but stable for over a year but is now not going up to

Feeling rubbish again
Had a visit to the emergency doctor today, been feeling really poorly since Friday. I spoke to my surgery asthma nurse on the phone because I couldn't get to them and she prescribed me some antibiotics as I had a temperature and a very painful productive cough. Yesterday was terrible coughing, feeling

New (sort of) :)
Hi everyone, I'm Ingrid from Sydney and I was recently diagnosed with mild to mod COPD. I quit smoking back in December and use Spiriva and Ventolin daily. Since quitting smoking I've been waiting for the moment when I actually feel better but this hasn't happened yet .... has anyone else experienced

Salamol CFC inhaler?
Hi! My name is Nikolay and this is my first post. I have suffered asthma pretty badly since birth, especially more into my adult life. And in the last couple of months I have had problems with Salamol CFC inhaler, which has made me have to use my inhaler excessively. My peak flow is low 175 the best;

SLEEP PROBLEMS
Hi on discharge from hospital the respiratory consultant stated I have COPD. He made a diagnosis from a CT scan. He wrote me up for Fostair 1 puff twice a day in reality a dose more in line with asthma rather than COPD. That was the only medication I received. Having researched COPD I went to my GP and
