So i finally managed to see the GP yesterday, with regards to the SOB issues and inhalers not helping, and of course that magic referral to Respiratory. He can't see why the ventolin isn't helping with breathlessness, so prescribed me another, but changed my steroid inhaler to Spiriva.
No referral to respiratory nurse, he says its too early for that, normally refers when more serious and not Mild as mine is.
After listening to my chest says I have low air entry on the left, suspects an infection , so I have to go have a chest xray and see him again in 4 weeks.

How strange my surgery is exactly the opposite! They use nurses as respiratory doctors and the doctors say they haven't got time to deal with this and nurses know more than they do anyway,
Doctors here won't even discuss anything about my copd and the nurses are too busy to have any free appointents so I usually end up asking my pharmacist. x
just saw your comment.I am on spiriva respamat and just started Breo Ellipta about 2 weeks ago.I am short of breath a lot band have trouble walking any distence outside.Getting sick very easily think its the inhalers plus not eating alot.can not afford alot plus hard to get things home.I have to take the bus nd taxie.taxie are getting too high.TRying to lose weight hard its just not coming off though .I started making homemade yogurt for the cultures and vitamins.I now have cellulitis in my legs which after 3 courses of vitamins is not going away.and edema
Sounds old-fashioned..and on a budget..hoping it goes away..
Ventolin didn't help me either. I'm on Spiriva now. I'm sorry it seems to be taking ages to see a respiratory specialist. Please keep us updated. Hang in there.
