Good day: I am new to this hub. I am also on the high blood pressure hub and a hub for Polymyalgia Rheumatica/Giant Cell Arteritis, which I have. My GFR was 42 back in the spring, 39 last month, and 36 this month. I see an oncologist for a protein I carry in my blood. The oncologist referred

Is it bad for you to just wait out an Afib spisode.
Over the last month I went into Afib 6+ times. The first one lasted about 12 hours. The next 3 I ended up in emergency and they had to cardiovert me. The 5th time lasted 24 hours. The 6th time, however, lasted 5 days. But I was so fed up with sitting in emergency for 12 hours and getting my chest blasted

Looking for advice on advanced diagnostics/treatment centers I could visit for a few days for adult inattentive type ADD.
TL;DR: I am struggling to find a treatment that works. Looking for a center or program I can leverage who might be able to apply some diagnostics (MRI/EKG/blood biomarkers etc) to find a treatment that is effective for my ADD-I. Also sorry for the wall of text. I am just so frustrated right now. I

LISINOPRIL AND AFIB
Hello all, are there any on this forum taking lisinopril for high blood pressure? I just came across this today and it could explain why I and maybe others have more afib episodes than we should; 1. Caution: High blood pressure/heart disease meds and potassium-rich foods like bananas, potatoes and licorice

Hi everyone, please help. I have had high blood pressure since age 40. I am now 76. My B/P was out of control for a few months in 2021, was getting systolic readings of 160 and above. I was prescribed 320 mgs of Valsartan, 5 mgs of Amlodopine. I now have a fluctuating systolic between 145 and 160

Has anyone else been diagnosed with hypercalciuria (excess calcium in urine) causing osteoporosis?
I've read a couple of osteoporosis forums and searched online and am not finding any information on hypercalciuria causing osteoporosis and its treatment (thiazide drugs which cause your kidneys to get rid of potassium and magnesium instead of calcium). I was diagnosed with osteoporosis (in my spine

Entresto
Have just been prescribed Entresto sacubitril/valsartan 24mg/26mg to be taken twice a day morning and evening. Has anyone else been prescribed this? If so, how did you get on with it and did your blood pressure suddenly drop to below 110/70? Thank you.

High BP, meds don't work
I am 67, female, moderately overweight, 5,8, 165# . Moderate hypertension for many years, well controlled with Losartan. Losartan stopped working, placed on Valsartan, which is basically Losartan with a water pill. Several months ago developed high BP, averaging 180/105 upon awakening, dropping

Sudden jump in creatinine and BUN, and drop in GFR after being on Valsartan for 13 years with no problem
A few years ago, I had a sudden huge jump in creatinine (1.6 to 3.4!) and BUN (30 to 100!) after being on Valsartan for 13 years with no problem. I know this can happen immediately after starting the drug, but I haven't been able to find any research indicating it can do this after 13 years. My nephrologist

LOW BLOOD PRESSURE
A somewhat new development for me has me wondering if there could be any relationship to our illness, so I'm seeking comments. My Blood Pressure has been dropping over time, and I did lose some weight in the last year, but I find it hard to imagine its because of the weight. One year ago I was 254

uncontrollable Blood pressure: on high meds of Valsartan 320 mgs and Amlodopine 5 mgs daily. ill recently and wondered if it is the meds.….
I have been suffering with high blood pressure for over 20 years. I am aged 75. For the past five years, it has occasionally become uncontrollable with spikes of high systolics up to 180- 200 on more than one occasions. My BP would be okay for several weeks and then out of the blue it goes sky high

Strange smell
Since I started on the drugs below, I seem to have a strange smell constantly in my nostrils. My wife says she can't smell anything. This strange chemical type smell is apparent in my pee too ( at least to me!) I'm due to see my HF nurse on Friday, but has anyone ever experienced this? I was diagnosed

A very cool link for all inhibitors that you can download
Here is a very cool link on all the inhibitors. This link is awesome and it covers all inhibitors for all of the cancer pathways. Half way down under "Other Androgen Receptor Products" you will see two graphics; one is "Download Inhibitor Catalog", the other is download the "Androgen Receptor Signaling

From EHA June 2022. Treating hypertension in patients receiving BTK inhibitors
My own Ibrutinib induced hypertension has been tricky to treat and Losartan, which did suit me, had to be stopped as it was contraindicated. Now on Amlopidine and it's not effective at all so going back to Losartan now that I'm off Ibrutinib. Interesting in that he says that more than one class of
