My irratic blood pressure appear to have stabilised after taking Valsartan 320 mgs ,and Amlodopine 5mgs daily for a few months. But I am now experiencing severe tinnitus( getting up in the morning) and , occasional musical ear syndrome . I have moderate to severe hearing loss, and wear hearing aids I have been referred to see an Audiologist . Just wondering if anyone has experienced tinnitus whilst taking B/P meds

Hi there. Yes, I take Amlodipine 5 mg and although I had very mild tinnitus before I started taking them, it is worse since. I have taken other BP meds in the past which made it much worse too but had to stop them.

Thank you springcross, I do not know wheter I should make the decision to stop taking the Amlodopine as it has helped to settle my sometimes irratic blood pressure along with 320 mgs of Valsartan daily. My doctor has not mention that the Amlodopine might be a problem.

I really don't think many GPs know all the side effects of medications, for BP or otherwise, pharmacists know far more about drugs. I don't think you should stop taking it without first speaking to your GP, especially as it seems to be controlling your BP. Maybe you could book up to have a chat about it and explain what's happening. Good luck.
