MRI all clear ‘normal’
Had a classic ‘normal’ from the ENT specialist today. MRI scan of nodules and adenomas in thyroid and close to parathyroid. ENT: Scan is normal, PTH is normal. Tells me what parathyroids are and what they do. Me: yeah I’ve watched the videos of the clinic in Florida, they say you can’t tell if they

lupron. seems this drug kills testosterone and is supposed to starve cancer cells.. while radiation kills the cancer.. I was reading. Outsmart your cancer by Tanya Pierce.. The medical argument is that testosterone is the evil thing here but really is a lame argument.. As Dr White has said if this

Hyperparathyroidism
Hi there! I have been diagnosed as having possible primary hyperparathyroidism. I am a shocked that there is not a group for this disease. Can anyone help with this? So many people think I have something wrong with my thyroid when I say I have it, when in fact it is to do with the parathyroid glands

Amlodipine?
We've read here that Amlodipine could worsen RLS symptoms. I can't find references to trusted sources, i.e. Mayo Clinic, Dr. Buchfuhrer, etc. Will someone post a link for me? I am hoping to convince my husband's doctor to change his prescription away from calcium channel blockers. Thanks so much!

vitamin k2 thoughts ?
Hello Ladies and Gents There’s a lot of reading matter online about the claimed benefits of taking k2 to keep calcium from arteries and transporting it to bones where it should be. Does anyone have any info on any possible negative effects of k2 on heart patients on statins? otherwise it would seem

Mitochondrial Protections from Exercise (Part Ib)
There have been very many studies published on the effects of exercise, especially of endurance/aerobic exercise, in restoring the number, the quality and the activity of mitochondria, both in the skeletal muscles, the heart and in the brain neurons. As these are our highest energy demanding tissues

repeat fractures
A year and a half ago I broke my left wrist when I fell while playing tennis. This was a severe break and required surgery. Two weeks later I was in a car accident and broke my right hand. I was being treated at Mayo for both injuries and I asked my orthopedic surgeon if I had osteoporosis. She said

A diagnosis! Yipee! Kawasaki Disease, look for calcified aneurysms! (also a question about warfarin)
Hey you lovely lot! So, some of you know that I needed a 2x CABG Jan 2022 aged 34 (very nearly my newly plumbed heart's birthday!) and every Dr/Cardiologiost that looked at my notes/history/angiograms came away scratching their heads and not understanding what had happened or why my vessels were so

Bones Absorbing Calcium
Does anyone know if there is a test to take to know how well or if our bones are absorbing the calcium we eat and calcium supplements we take? Does testing calcium in the blood tell us how much calcium our bones are absorbing ?

Hello lovelies first DEXA at 55 and -2.5 in the spine.... I guess those 4 years of prednisone in my late teens and twenties did a number.. or my dairy-free lifestyle (allergic since birth) not to mention 20 years of no beef/ pork ... so now what? I follow an anti-inflammatory diet with supplements

Hi and Happy New Year to you all ! I'm just after a little advise. This morning I had an Osteoporosis consultation. I haven't been able to tolerate AA, Risedronate or Zoladronic Acid but luckily my fracture scores are low 1.8% - 7%. I was diagnosed just under 2 years ago and only have Osteoporosis

Results are in (Update 2/17/23)
So recurrent after radiation and 2 years ADT. PSA pretty close to 3 by now. Bone and CT scan done because my cheap insurance company denied the Pylarify until after the other 2. I don't mind the extra contrasts, barium or whatever hell else they gave me. I keep asking is it nuclear. Only the bone scan

Suitable drugs for hypertension
I am due to see my GP on Wednesday and I know we will be having a conversation about my raised blood pressure (in the region of 159/70). I already know calcium channel blockers are not good for RLS and I cannot take beta blockers which make my heart go much too slow. Could any of you good folk give

timing of supplements
I am confused about whether it is beneficial to take supplements at certain times of the day or with/without certain pairings. Perhaps it just doesn’t matter, which would be much more convenient. This is what I am currently doing,, but I’d appreciated any suggestions, especially if you think I am overthinking

Calcium Supplements
I want to thank all of you who responded to my question on using calcium supplements. I received many replies on exercise, diet, efficacy and side effects which led me to conclude that my current lifestyle is more than adequate to maintain bone health without supplements. I want to trust my docs to
