Getting rid of EBV?
Hi, I have Hashimoto’s. The endocrinologist I see tested for past EBV infection as suspected something else contributing to my symptoms. And the test results say I have a past infection. He says there’s not much I can do other than to rest, and believes 8 weeks off work would help. I’m not averse to

Issues After Imbruvica
I started 3 140mg tabs of Imbruvica in January of 2017. I tolerated it very well with the normal side effects of cramps and brittle nails. Venetoclax 400 mg was added in July of 2017 as a ramp up. I continued on the Imbruvica/Venetoclax trial with no issues until May of 2018 when I had an Afib episode

Post transplant CMV Mismatch
Hi All My husband had a liver transplant on 28.11.17 and having looked at his medication and read his discharge note it says he has been prescribed Valganciclovir as he has a high risk CMV mismatch. Having googled it - sounds serious - has anyone else come across this and I am not sure of the implications

Rituximab for skin condition -- plus caretaker needs mental health check
My husband has been told he may need to start rituximab to combat the immune-related skin lesions he's had for the past two months. Prednisone (now at 60 mg/daily--skin clears up but then as soon as he gets down to 20 mg or so, lesions return), valacyclovir, and various other medications have not been

This is my first post so by way of introduction, my husband had his transplant on Valentine's Day this year. The best present that we could ever have wished for. He was diagnosed with ALD cirrhosis in March 2015 and then with HCC in September. He recovered really quickly after the transplant, home after

34 months on a Phase I-b Clinical Trial for Ibrutinib. A day of monitoring at OSU medical center with CLL specialist Dr. John Byrd
The weather in Columbus OH was wet and cool as I made my walk to the James Cancer Center along the newly restored Olentangy River. The Union cemetery sported flowering Eastern Red Buds as I thought about my impending BMB (Bone Marrow Biopsy). Had Ibrutinib finally put the CLL Bear into deep hibernation
